I was wondering what you guys used. I myself used to use Greasemonkey, but then switched to Tampermonkey coupla years back. I'm now looking into Violentmonkey, the (relatively) new kid on the block.

Greasemonkey
  • Only supported on Firefox.
  • Development is rather slow.
  • Firefox users: 500k

Tampermonkey
  • Supported across a large number of browsers.
  • Closed source, but frequently updated.
  • Firefox users: 300k, Chrome users: 10M+

Violentmonkey
  • Open source on Github
  • Frequent updates.
  • Firefox users: 50k, Chrome users: 1M

tampermonkey for chrome, think i still have greasemonkey for firefox on pc and then tampermonkey for firefox on android.

I switched from Tampermonkey to Violentmonkey about a week ago.

While most scripts need a little tweak (it requires a protocol, so *://*torn.com/page.html instead of *.torn.com/page.html*), the syncing feature is the one thing that got me to switch.
It was a feature that I've wished for so long, since I often switch between my desktop and my laptop.

It also needs the protocol in the @match tag, which some scripts don't have, so you'd have to edit it.
