Yeah. I would also like my E back that I wasn't able to use when in hospital, all the Neumune tablets we already used, happiness is still missing etc...

Yeah it was pretty obvious that account was suspicious af.

Hopefully they find the main account behind this.

Hello everyone.

As with all dirty bombs we investigate their creation, acquisition and detonation to ensure that weapons of this nature are affecting legitimate players fairly.

We do not want to have to minimise the credibility of Dirty Bombs by removing their effects but in the case of ones acquired so blatantly illegally we have no choice.

One noteworthy example was of course the bomb dropped by Kapten_Klitoris using funds acquired via bug abuse which we reverted - See here for those not in the loop: https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=1&t=16082307&b=0&a=0

In the case of this bomb, it was detonated by a user using compromised accounts. This user is known to us hence why this was easy to spot and a straightforward decision to revert.

The method by which they went about this involved the acquisition of accounts compromised on other platforms where users shared the same email and password, specifically targeting inactive accounts.

The funds were then combined into a single account and used to purchase a dirty bomb from the market, this dirty bomb itself was legitimate, however the means of acquisition were not, hence our decision to revert it.

All accounts involved will of course be suspended.

Please, I implore everyone, to use different password details between platforms, and to also use 2FA. Never allow others to access your account. We take great care here in Torn to protect users from having their details or hard earned funds lost but there is only so much we can do, account security is in part everyone's responsibility.

We have reverted the effects of the bomb on the faction involved, removed radiation effects and are in the process of restoring neumune tablets.

We are in the process of restoring neumune tablets and checking other things that we need to fix. I will post updates as necessary.

Thank you all for your patience, and we hope these kinds of instances can be avoided in the future.

Thanks Bogie!

If we could still get happy, medical cd, and energy restored or compensated somehow, that would help.

A short ban is not enough for this kind of thing. The main shpuld be fedded.

Hey Champ, keep us up to date on who is banned. Won't be hard to firgure out who it was.

What do you think about another account protect, i suggest Inventory Protect, need to type 4 number (player set) to open inventory, everytime player log out this would be enable again. Hope you understand my English is not very good

Alternatively - protect your entire account with 2FA and a secure/unique password.

Knew this would happen as soon as I saw the dropper looking like a multi. Good job on bogie and the team for setting everything straight, again.

Runescape operates a similar model like you suggest.

Username and password + 2FA optional for logging in the account.

For access to the bank there's also the option for a separate 4 digit PIN.

Also working on a system to drastically reduce the chance of this happening again. I'm hoping this is the last time an unauthorised dirty bomb is detonated.
