I was attacked and it was going normally. Then a second attacker joined - still no problem, But then that attacker got 4 attacks in a row with no response from me. Would have lost anyway but never seen someone get multiple attacks like that before. Have I missed something?

In case of group attack there is a chance for defender to miss the response - and that's what actually happened in that case.
