if you wreck you should be able to rebuy and install parts without points...just a thought

Nah. Losing upgrades and having to spend points to replace them, is the main penalty for crashing. The hospital time and a bit of money are not important. Without having to spend points on replacing upgrades, crashing might as well not exist.
