Found this super old warring screenshot in my old phone the other day.. #BringBackWarring
Edit: To those unaware, there was a warbase in old times, you couldn't just chain on any target you wished. The warbase had a limit of 500 enemy members (599 if you declared war on a 100 man faction while being at 499 already). You could only chain on the targets in the warbase and you had to hospitalize for the hit to count. There were no bonuses beyond 100 hit chain, so that's where the chain used to drop and restart.
There were chain bars as you can see below, the more bonuses and hits you did on the opponents, the more respect your bar had. To win a war, you needed to have 'x' respect more than the opponent's bar. There was a formula for 'x' but for most wars it was capped at 2.5k. Ranked wars were possible if you declared a war on any faction which was up to 25 ranks above you and the regular hits granted you 2x more respect (was later nerfed down to 1.5x). IBB were the masters of ranked wars and farming and they farmed all the way to HoF starting from 400ish rank(?).
You couldn't unset the faction upgrades back in the days, so once the respect was spent, it was done. So you always had to keep a buffer of respect, like Merc's have 11k respect in reserve below. DBs were arguably MUCH more potent back in the days, coz you could actually zero down a HoF faction with a single well timed DB.
