In the recent team chat hype discussion ReaperHouse [2208420] commented somewhere; “Wondering if it is possible to have verified scripts that have been vetted by yourself (IceBlueFire) and others so that people at least know they are safe? If they choose to use them” which made me go hmm yea that’d be handy but labour intensive but.....potentially worth it....and led to this very newly formulated and very open to improvements suggestion:
Appoint another ScriptStaff. IceBlueFire is busy already.
This Staff member would need to be very script savvy and would be full time verifying scripts/ dealing with scripting issues affecting Torn.
If a script is verified, it is considered safe to use for any player, and deemed fully legal to use until otherwise posted. (unforeseen issue arises, verified can be turned to under-review)
This Staff member could edit in on others posts, confirming unverified/pending/verified/banned/under-review.
If a player uses an unverified or banned script (like now) they do so fully at their own risk of all negatives.
Having this position would assist with a transparent image of where scripting/scripting rules are at as well as encourage people less script savvy to stay included in the game competitively.
I believe clarity between players and staff needs to be improved in this area and will only become worse if left unaddressed.
