Simple idea really, folks involved in an oc should be able to spend some of their nerve in the oc. The spent nerve could improve odds of success, mitigate some of the bad things on a fail, or even boost the rewards of a success. As a second part I could even see a new way to spend merits that would make the nerve spent on an oc count more.
Using nerve in oc

Interesting idea, but how does using nerve affect the oc you can do? nnb already influences success so unless the mechanic double counts could you end up reducing success rate to put gain up ?
I think OC success being based off crime experience is already you spending nerve on improving the success rate of OC. except you are spending nerve to increase your OC success rate indirectly (spending on crimes for crime exp) instead of spending it directly on your OC.
In the same way you spend energy to improve your battle stats, which indirectly allows you to beat a player. Instead of spending 75 Energy attacking them 3 times, you spend 10,000 energy to get the battle stats to beat them in 1.
