In relation to the faction special overseas banking I understand that as long as the faction special is active on the 1st of each month, that the faction members using the Cayman Island bank will receive the higher interest rate for the entire prior month even if the special was only active a few days.
I’m unsure if this is intentional, but it’s pretty clear to me that the respect for that special can be allocated to other specials for the remainder of the month. I don’t think this is logical/fair and should be looked at.
Hmm, I actually have no easy way to remedy this currently. Even if we rebuilt the system to include 'time unlocked upgrades', it'd be difficult to display this intuitively to users.
It'd actually probably be easier / simpler to block the setting of the "Overseas banking" upgrade for a month after it's been unset. "This branch is locked for another 31 days".
another concern not thought about here is.. what if you have had the upgrades set all month and need to move some stuff around? do you loose your interest because you needed to unset and move but keep the interest upgrade? this isnt broken there is no reason to fix it. there are way more important things in this game that need fixing than trying to nerf this use for respect. e
^ This. If you plan to make changes, please keep that in mind. It would be unfair to lose all your interest if you held the specials for lets say 21 days and then had to change due to a war or something. It's a double edged sword I guess. Cayman already pays very little interest as is.
What if the perk was on a kind of a timer that worked like the interest itself? If you set the perk in the middle of the month, you won’t receive that interest bonus until the next month completely.
Ched leave it as it is you are already pissing people off by changing things around, so a word of advice just leave it. Cayman interest is low as it is as said above and does not need changing. To keep the small minority who have hundreds of billions of cash happy it will come at a cost of pissing all the smaller factions.
I love the way its impossible for the dev to fathom a way to fix this, and you spit out the simplest and easiest fix going. it could even be locked behind a 30 day gate which only pays out at the end of the month.
I wonder if all those factions who exploited this bug are going to be retroactively punished, deductions made from their caymans bank balances and also warnings issued to their accounts? haha who am i kidding that only seems to happen to Relentless.
I love the way you think it's a simple and easy fix to rebuild the entire Cayman Islands system to individually recalculate daily interest instead of monthly, just for this one minor issue :D
To confirm, this is not considered a bug, nor abuse. If you want to shift around your faction specials every month that's up to you. We'll eventually get around to reviewing it in the future when we have availability, as it's not 100% optimal.
