This has happened to me a few times as well when I used to revive... but it's usually the dickhead big boys that got me.
Valuable lesson for yourself as a reviver: if their low in age, check their NW, and always check friend/enemy count.
If either of those things are "off" ask for payment up front on single revs, and dont do more than 5 at a time without getting paid in between. Your better off being cautious, with the chance of losing a customer, than wasting your time and E only to get stiffed.
There is no fool proof way to prevent getting scammed, because reviving relies so heavily on "trust" when it comes to payment.. but being vigilant of who your reviving will help immensely... good luck!

Sorry what's the lesson here? I also saw this message in trade chat and told him due to age/networth he would have to prepay. He didnt and therefore was not revived. But I fail to see the lesson you are trying to teach.
