It seems to me that holding your level should not mean you get to stay in the new player chat, it's unfair. Rather than your level being the trigger which kicks you from new player chat, I suggest that your xp Should be the trigger, meaning people can't lurk in a chat which is meant for new playersa, not exploiting them for personal gain or bountying them into oblivion or mugging them whilst they are so naive to the ways of TORN.
We need to be encouraging new players, and I feel the sharks that lurk on that npc are quite toxic to the growth of the game and to the influx of new players.
New player chat, I think the.clue is in the name "new". Meaning it is not meant for people who are 2000 days old. Surely there has to be some cut off. Don't mean to be arsey just don't know how else to say I think it's a bit broken.
What does it hurt to have level holders in NPC? They already give up on so much more. In addition, players like Jesus are an assest to new players. I know he gave me advice when I was new.
I agree that the system needs to change. It's a bit unfair for new players trying to find targets to attack. I think the experience is a good idea but the issue with that is there will be no warning before they hit that mark which might cause a lot of confusion. Unless we have an event that warns the player that they are going to lose access to NPC soon.. Either way, I think somethings needs to change. R+
The problem is the people who don't level up and get to level 13 and above. Hell, just look at Wolfy_Girl - she's 560 days old, level 1, and has been in NPC since I first joined Torn. She's also strong enough to beat up actual new players and send them to the hospital regularly despite her low HP.
Although, when I was new her beatings actually pushed me to get stronger but I doubt most other new players would feel the same way.
I was always warned of npc. Told not to chat in it because id get targeted by players there. I left the chat 14 days in since I leveled up fast, but some are a lil slower and dont have this kind of advice from experienced players. Yes its a crime game but why do we have to begin new players off in a toxic environment where they cant chat and learn and ask the mods questions in npc because everytime they chat in there they get mugged or harrassed just because they are an easy target. Global is diff because by then you are expected to be accountable for your own weakness, but in npc you cant help but be weak. Kicking players from npc based off age makes more sence than level with a level holding system. Npc chat isnt a privilege holders need. wouldn't they prefer global instead? Why is being in a newbie chat a privilege?
