I know this may be a little weird for some people. But since I'm Chinese we have a tradition of giving red packets, or hongbao as we call it, containing cash in them.
It would be lovely and fun to share a festival from my culture to the people of torn. That way we Chinese get to have a bit of something we hold dear while including everyone by generously giving away money for luck and respect to people we like during the lunar new year this end january?
Randomly just sending cash directly is boring.
Or maybe theres hardly any chinese players here. I dont know. Just asking.
If moderator thinks this may be more suited for suggestions please help to move it. Thanks.

Oh yes, just adding red envelopes to the post office will suffice. Functions just like an empty box, but for cash instead of items.
PS: "Ang pao" literally means "red packet" in the Hokkien dialect (probably because most Chinese immigrants in Indonesia came from southern China, where they speak Hokkien). "Hong bao" is the Mandarin pronunciation.

Yeah here in Singapore we call it all 3 ways since we are bilingual.
Bugger that means the takeaway will be closed for a week. I cant see how a new year can last that long. Ours last about six hours before we argue, fight, be sick, stumble and fall asleep for twelve hours.
I hope you enjoy new year Jryann as it has to be better than mine!

Booze makes everything better judge.
Thanks and new year usually is for us to contemplate about life and how we wasted the past year. Hahaha
