Aside from what you will read in Baldr's Guide , which is fantastic...
1. Do not piss off older players. There are some that will bounty just because you say hi.
2. Do not beg for money or stuff. See #1 for possible results.
3. In the event you ignore 1 & 2, and you catch some bounties, do not whine about it on the forums.
3a. Be a big boy and apologize for messing up and do not bounty back. After the apology, do not interact anymore. They usually want the attention.
4. DO find a player that will mentor you and answer questions. There are some good people playing the game.

So with the $750 you have, buy 100 bricks from bits 'n' bobs, trade it with someone for $50,000 in total, then buy leather gloves, leather vest, leather helmet, leather pants, leather shoes, leather whip.
Also do rent a mansion if possible early on after doing here: Torn City Real Estate - Mansion Rental Market. Preferably if you get one for 14 - 31 days that says 1000 happiness, that's best. More happiness you have, more output you will receive when training in the gym.
Speaking of gym, if need be, spend some of your money on candies and eat it then train in the gym. Preferably get to level 3 and join a company like a hair salon or candle shop or flower shop or fireworks stand, or anything else, just get in a company with nice salary.
Pray in the church once per day, and donate $1 in there for next 14 - 21 days
Put like $10k or something in the bank if you want a merit (Torn Bank),

This is my favorite Honor Bar as of now, used to be the Poker King Honor Bar, but now this honor bar is received by reviving.

My advice would be to ignore Wolly. He killed SUN as leader. My ex hubby and current faction leader 0'd the last remaining SUN faction at my request.
