If you hoard special ammo will it increase the odds of you getting better things?

For instance, if I have 10k peircing shotgun ammo will peircing shotgun ammo stop showing up? Thus increasing my odds of getting mods for sale and books for sale.

It would make sense if this was true, not that I have proof of it, as it shouldn't offer you ammo you can't buy

However, I'd imagine the increase in chance of books and mods are minor as a result of it

Special ammo appears for weapons that you have equipped. If you don't want ammo to appear I assume you need to unequip primary and secondary weapons

Which means, if you have no guns equipped or are capped out on a certain ammo type, you should get ammo of random type, both from mission rewards as well as BAG. No way of knowing this unless you try, but I do know that you get random ammo types if you do not have any guns equipped.

Okay, this may explain why I'm being offered some .380INC ammo now, which I thought odd since I NEVER equip any weapon of .380! Perhaps the mission shop cycled when I was unarmed for some reason (wall jumps, etc.)... Thanks for info.

No, your chances of getting a better item will not increase if you buy up all the special ammo on sale in the mission points shop.

It will however replace it with another item/mod/book/or ammo again once you do make a purchase.

It is completely randomised and you could just keep getting ammo as an option even after clicking buy 3-4 times :P
