So I wanted to check first. Is there anything against Torns rules of pinging the items API once an hour or maybe once every 6 hours, to get all items and store their market values in a DB.
Mainly so I can send myself notifications when particular items I am interested in goes above or below a certain market value?
It would save me a lot of time checking lots of items in the item market myself. I am not sure if that is against Torns rules though, so best to check first :)
You can spend your api limit (100 a minute) as you want. You can even use it to call an item every 30 seconds (cache, anything under 30s is a waste of your api calls.

What do you mean by market value of an item? The Torn value (that you can view a graph for) or the value that a particular item could be bought from the market at a particular moment?
What we call market value is the value you see on the graphs and you call Torn value. It is updated daily though. So there is no need to call it every hour.

I know that it's updated daily, which is why I asked the OP what he wanted to track.

I assumed it would be the bazaar and itemmarket calls. Although manually checking is the best, by the time is comes in the api (120 seconds delay), it will be gone probably.
Thanks for the replies people! To clarify if it so my updated daily then I will call it daily to check the torn value to get an idea if it’s a good time to buy or sell certain things ?
if you don't like the daily report that torn gives u, you can spend more than 1 API call to get datapoints and create ur own algorithm. as long as the total amount of calls is below the 100 limit (if u are over the limit, the api will soft lock you for 1 minute or so).
