This is a newbie oriented Guide

Hi !

Many new players may not know what to do in TORN.

FOR A TOO LONG;DIDN'T READ (or) TL;DR VERSION, read the BOLD AND UNDERLINED TEXT IN BLUE COLOUR.

SLUTTING IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR WAYS TO EARN MONEY.

Now let us know what is slutting.

SLUTTING :

  • Slutting means attacking a player and being lost to him intentionally for money.
  • This is also known as selling losses.
  • There are many people buying and selling losses. It also has competition !
  • You can sell losses at a cost of 250K to 300K.
  • You always have buyers for losses. Not like reviving which has significantly very few buyers !

Steps of Slutting : (No TL;DR. Should be read fully. Already shortened.)
  • Check if you have enough meds, E, medical cooldown (whose time should be less than the cooldown of the meds you use).
  • Go to the trade chat and post "Selling Losses. Each [Your price for each loss here]." Alternatively, you can search for a buyer in Trading Post of TORN Forums.
  • Go and chat him.If he says to attack, immeadiately click on the gun button on his profile page, click on Attack Button, and lose in the attack intentionally.
  • In the chat box, message him that he has been hit by you. Then he transfers the money to you.
  • You would be in the hospital now. Use your meds to get out.
  • Repeat the process.

Math behind Slutting , Profits and Losses :

Slutting might look like an energy intensive business, but it is worth it.

Each attack costs 25 E. At start, you would have 100 E.

100 E / 25 E = 4 Attacks

Sell these 4 losses each for 250K

4 x 250K = 1MIL $$$

Just don't get mad seeing 1MIL. Just read further to see how we get 2.5MIL !!!!!!!!!

With this money, buy a Xanax (of worth 900K at max) and spend the remaining on Meds.
You better buy First Aid Kits as they add less medical cooldown. But I always prefer to buy Blood bags (of your blood type in TORN).

Each blood bag gets you out of hospital for 1 time, but you need to have the Intravenous Therapy Course in Education.

After getting the meds, use the Xanax. Each Xanax gives a cooldown and 250E.

250 E / 25 E = 10 Attacks

10 Attacks x 250K = 2.5 MIL $$$

See how you got 2.5 MIL at the expense of 100E. There might be cooldown, but you can have much money.

TIPS :

  • Always have meds in your inventory.
  • It would be better if you sell 5 losses at a time.Receive the payment, and then do next 5 attacks and receve the money. Repeat this cycle and "Beware of scammers !".
  • Always have E stacked. Once you reach 1000 E, you could sell 40 attacks, each for 250K, which give 10 MIL. This means, you get money equivalent of 11 Xanax. Even if you remove the cost of 4 Xanax for stacking, you would get 6 Xanax as net profit.
  • This method requires no battle stats.
  • Mostly, players in huge battle factions like the 39th Street Killers, buy losses even when inactive ! You need to message them on how many times you lost to them. They check and pay you when they come online.
  • You can also find buyers in the Trading Post of TORN Forums.
Warnings :
  • Selling losses gives you money and may also give with negative faction respect (if you get attacked and got defeated; not if you attack and lose yourself). This decreases faction's respect and the leader will certainly kick you once you have done enough damage. A more detailed description can be found at Faction - Respect.
  • Stabbing : Stabbing means attacking the persons who sell losses mostly without giving the loser some money. The attacker may have the perk "Stealth", by which he can attack anonymously. So beware of them.

We mainly do it for merits, the most expensive merits are 10,000 defends and have 1,000 finishing hits in each category :p

*Warning* Selling enough losses will get you the "Loser" title, which is not the greatest wingman in finding that Saturday night date.

*Warning* Most reputable factions will bitch at a player for selling losses, as its wasteful of training energy and xanax rehabs.

*Also warning* selling losses during a chain will straight up get you stabbed.

Carry on...
Quilogy [2083745]
Because, if you're in my faction, I will stab you personally.

Edit: That's probably an unfair answer. In short, if your faction is chaining and gaining respect and you're using your energy to make money and sell losses, your teammates will be angry, and rightly so. It's kind of a dick move. :)

You can rehab any time, but after taking about 4 to 5 xanax it is better to play safe by rehabbing in Switzerland, to prevent overdose. The more xanax you take the higher your chance of overdose and drug addiction. There is really no "amount of xanax you can take before having to go to rehab", its really up to you and the amount of risk you are willing to take before going to rehab. Hope this helps.

It would get negative faction respect, decreasing it. Actually, respect is the thing what makes factions to war and to chain. You would be kicked out of faction if you have caused more damage.

Lol easiest way to kill your rehab bills is by over rehabing. Look at rehab bill guide for further explanation. Also rehab does not prevent over dose.

Attack losses do not decrease respect, that being said if ya do losses during chains then u don’t care about ur faction or increasing its bonuses so it’s not wise, losses are bad for stats short term but if the cash is invested wisely it can help you build a passive income flow that’ll help you grow more steady long term, many veterans have huge stats it’s takes time but a passive income flow can be built within a few months and it’s helpful in my opinion what you choose is your choice though
