No OD is completely random. It can happen once in a month or 4 times in a row. Doesn't matter how many you take. Every drug does have a different OD % rate.

OD is completely random, and purely up to chance, no matter how many times you've taken it.
Although there are modifiers to reduce the chances of it (Toleration branch) It doesn't change the chance that everything is still up to chance. That's how it was intended, not really lazy coding, but intentional coding.

If I take completely random in the common sense (meaning chances of ODs are random variables), I don't think it is. I've seen and heard so many times 2 or 3 OD very close to each other.

I see what you mean. I ment it more like: doesn't matter if you hold of on drugs for a while you can still OD. Or you can take a lot of Xan and don't OD for weeks in a row.
The real question in this thread is why are you taking less than 2-3 xanax a day?

You have a 3% chance of OD'ing on Xanax, unless you have fac perks and prob some other perks I've forgotten; the % chance differs by drug - some, such as love juice and if I recall opium, have 0% chance, some are higher - I think Ketamine, and some are super low but not 0, such as cannabis. My rate happens to be 1.83% ATM for Xanax, it's in your stats (personal stats from the homepage is an easy place to see it), if you're curious. That's OD's/# taken, not the chance of OD the game provides - it's your 'effective' OD %, for lack of a better term.
