Can somebody please explain to me why people mug active players... when there are so many inactive players with tens of thousands in cash on them?

Is it because Torn City is full of children and other small dicked individuals without the intelligence to realise that it's just a waste of their time and energy, when there are so many more profitable ways to spend it?

Anyway... I'd like to take the opportunity to thank the loser who just earned me the 'ChurchMouse' merit for being mugged for $1.

Actives do tend to have more cash on hand, since they are actively trying to make it. Older accounts may have more value, but it's not cash on hand, and passive sources of income really can't make you as much as you can make just by traveling and bringing back things to sell, or other active techniques.

Plus, inactive accounts, except on rare occasion, are picked clean fairly frequently. Being able to find/mug an old account with a lot of money on hand is going to be mostly guesswork.

Well lets break this down a little bit.

Inactive players probably don't have enough cash worth mugging. They've probably already been mugged several times. And they don't have any active money coming in because... they aren't active.

Active players, especially those who are traders, have money coming in and out. If you are lucky to mug an active player while they have money on hand, you get MILLIONS instead of tens of thousands.

So while trying to make a good chunk of change mugging, not every mug is going to be a winner. There is a lot of luck that goes into it, like the casino. If they mug you for 1 dollar, but their next mug is 8 million, then their average mug is worth it in the long run.

Yes you are new player. New players don't understand the game because they are new. At least it means you are not just another someone's multis. Or a multi restart.

Anywaaaaaaaay, mugging is part of the game. If you mug people and you get less than a energy can worth, you actually don't gain. You lose. And because active players have more cash in hands, better mug active players so people won't waste their energy.
Don't get mad when you get attacked or mugged. These are part of the game. Just med up, train up, and move on. Just make sure they lose more (energy is precious) than you (in this case money). You too can mug ppl if you want btw.

I definitely mugged all that from inactives

i can average 80-100k mugging inactives easily

maybe if i mug actives, i might get lucky and get more....but i also might get a LOT more retaliations

not saying my way is the perfect way by any stretch....but it works for me

as i am still fairly new to this game, i still have a lot to learn....
