Before I start, I would like to stipulate that this is not an attempt to argue against the legitimacy of any jailings that have been carried out, simply to reduce the controversy and community speculation surrounding high profile cases. This is a pretty simple suggestion, but one I feel would be largely supported by the majority of the community, especially in the high profile cases that have taken place as of late.
To simply put it, in a game this large, it should not be a dictatorship, I believe that in high profile cases, such as rjkc4, XIII, Zahid and others, that there should be at least a brief explanation provided to the community by the community manager supported by some evidence of wrongdoing. Not just the usual, vague, he has multiple accounts...
Now, I understand there are issues associated with this, mainly that other players may replicate these players actions if too much information is divulged, which is why this isn't a request for every single detail of every single infraction to be revealed to the community, simply that the transparency behind these bans is increased and the community is provided with a reasonable explanation.
An example of where this was carried out excellently was in relation to GoldenFeel's case:
A reasonable explanation provided, supported by a fraction of evidence against him, but solid, indisputable evidence, in which did not give any players the ability to replicate his actions, but reduced any controversies surrounding the ban.
I feel this is a reasonably simple request, which has minimal to no negative repercussions, but does make the community manager answerable to the community for his actions.
I completely support the bans made, I trust that they are supported by sound evidence. I just believe it would be beneficial to the wider community on a whole if we had access to a fraction of that evidence.
I understand what you're asking, but I'm two minded as those who are yet to be caught will actually learn to work around this (whatever evidence example).
I think you're talking to a brick wall here, it's not going to be anything further than what details have been released. Would be interesting to see though!
As Bogie said when he became Community Manager, he would not be changing the decisions of past cases before his time. This wouldn't be something implemented on past cases such as rjkc4 and Zahid, but instead only going forward on future cases.
Nova, you've been given as much information as you need.
This is not an argument for "transparency", this is UR using you as a puppet to try and glean information into how the cheating was caught so it can be avoided in the future.
We have no desire to release specifics on how these accounts were caught and jailed, this is significantly more complicated than the GF case where I could give a very minimal piece of information, but in reality too there is still an enormous amount that was not displayed and won't be, the part that actually gave me the cue to delete them entirely for one thing.
really? can you provide some evidence where this has happen? i'm sure bogie has guidelines hes bound to follow like all officers before someone's deleted. you have to trust that bogie doesn't go corrupt, he certainly wouldnt considering he'd be risking his livelihood.
I'd wager a bundle that Nova not only doesnt intend to play or associate with Zahids restart, but also isnt on a secret mission to help him learn how to cheat better either... could we maybe just consider that he is asking for this because its a simply a good idea. Its crazy how you just besmirch the shit out of people like that and think its ok because of your position. You didnt raise the possibility that he might be working for Zahid, you flat out said it like it was a fact. You do that shit often too, because you can just say and do what ya want and if anyone doesnt like it, tough shit. That really sucks, Bogie.
When you put that info out about GF, everyone was like "oh.. shit, ok, hes guilty af" and that was the end of it. If you provided something like that in other cases, a lot of back and forth could be saved, and like ya said, you dont have to give up the whole kit and kaboodle to remove the doubt that always comes with these things. You coulda shut me up on the Rj thread real easy, with minimal effort. I know im a nobody and a peon that you dont have to explain shit to, but when you start to look at the whole community like that ... well... its a problem.
You should go back and read Cheds replies to people when they raise questions and have issues. Some of them come at him guns a blazin too, but he always takes the time and has the consideration for his customer base to explain his point of view, provide information to support his stance and remembers these people ARE his customers and customer retention is a pretttyyy big part of running a successful business.
If he can do that, and he owns the game, why cant you leave the God Complex at the door and do the same ?
It's much easier for Chedburn to explain why a server didn't work than for me to reveal sufficient information as to how cheats were caught without this being subject to potential abuse. These are not comparable scenarios.
There is absolutely nothing to be gained from revealing this information other than to satiate curiosity of those who are just being nosy or to those who would seek to use this information for their own gain.
But such info provided is likely altered partially as well as partially fabricated by BoGeH and is the staff member just mentioned is exposed as such and the expose' by merely a smallish percentage bold enuff to voice publicly and loudly proudly Chedn00bTardMongBoi will claim he mistakenly made a few accidently errors and needed my instructions to how to correct them but is currently preoccupied by top secret confidential in-game controversies.
Are you asking for a description in the fed reason? You sited that.
Or
Are you asking for charts on activities and algorithms, because bogie and ched will not be teaching cheaters how to get around their own systems to detect what's going on.
That honestly is literally just ignorant. Imagine that if cheating would be going on, maybe there are people which have NEVER EVER heard any of that, and therefore bans would not be justified?
EDIT: I talked to realist, seems like i misunderstood him and he also gave me further explanation on his point. Thanks.
There ya go again .... not only assuming the worst of your customers, but stating it as a fact.
Do you not see the million pages of "hes innocent!' "no, hes guilty !!" that usually accompany a high-profile fedding? It happens every time, well, except with Zahid, because well.... you know ...
People back up their friends, and attack their enemies, and on both sides, its almost always speculative. Could you maybe consider that not all of us are cheats and we just wanna know if the person we are defending so vehemently is guilty or not? Sometimes, people are invested in these players , be it as friends, faction members, or leads of the faction involved.... there are legit reasons for wanting to know if someone is guilty besides "ahh, youre all just a bunch of cheats looking for an edge "...
