With specials unsetting taking 100 hours this gives another big advantage territory attackers not only can they come with energy fully stacked but also on war perks by the time your perks unset you have already been at a huge disadvantage for multiple wars
i had made a suggestion a while back to shorten the time it takes it unset but it was declined so instead id like to suggest that a faction have the option to instantly unset there specials by paying a permanent fee in respect
this would be a fee you had to pay each time you wanted to quickly unset those perks
now price of the fee i was thinking 1% of the factions total respect? as a flat fee would be high for smaller respect factions but nothing for high respect factions give me suggestions on this maybe ill change it
I like the idea.. big cost/value in a surprise attack, but honestly dont think a flat 1% to quick reset all branches is equivalent across all faction sizes
1% can be recouped via 1 chain relative to the fac size. Not only that, but bigger factions unfairly advantage here imo, because they're a lot more likely to WANT to reset their specials on the fly, as they actually have the respect and necessity to change specials on a dime.
For a small fraction, 5% gym gains and +5 travel items is more important than than some extra med CD, regardless if your in a territory war or not. Plus, the respect lost to an instant reset, is worth more to a smaller faction, because they have less to begin with
A 100k fac would need to bust out a 250 hit chain averaging 2.8 respect or more per hit to recoup 1000 respect.
A 500k respect faction needs to do a 1k @ 4resp average hit to recoup 5k resp
A 6m respect faction would need to do a 10k hit chain, averaging 5 respect per hit to recoup 60k resp.. although majority of bigger factions have the advantage of plenty of wall partners, so 60k resp (or damn close to it) could likely be done with a 5k chain.
Maybe make the cost 0.5% total respect per branch you unset. I feel that's a lot more equivalent for the actual cost/value to the factions doing the quick reset. And this way, you only have to quick unset branches you want, rather than all of them (in case your keeping your toleration/voracity, but just want to change steadfast, criminality, and excursion for war perks)
I would like to see a different, more simple solution: Factions can instantly change their perks, but they will have to wait 100 hours before they can unset them again. Same cooldown, but it removes the ability to surprise attack.
i also like this , i think that it would effect the bigger factions just as well as the smaller ones but to a fair degree, newer factions need the help more or less, but none the less devs will have there way with the math so none the less 5*
I updated the suggestion, but really I liked DVD’s suggestion that there be a cooldown period of 100 hours to reset your specials again instead of a 100 hour wait for them to unset.
That basically takes away any 'penalty' for resetting perks realistically speaking, as most of the time you'd want the new perks to be in place for at least a few days (if not longer).
I do like the idea overall though but you'd need to be careful to balance the cost correctly, as I'm thinking that a flat 1% might not be sufficient at either end of the scale if you want this to be seen as a "break glass in case of emergency" type of mechanic.
I like the idea but I do think it should be a costly thing. 1% doesn't seem that costly. The wait is 100 hours and that is a costly. so if the wait is completely erased and it is instantly allowed then the cost to respect has to be hard enough to make it not something factions choose to do unless they absolutely feel the need is there. in most cases the adjustment would be done during war to help with defense so make it costly... 1% of total respect plus 50% less respect gain for 2 days. This shouldn't be something that faction leaders see as a solution to a problem. it should be a solution to a serious problem.
