It triggers the function that detects onclick. but no real clicks are being made (just the event packet being sent). If functions were not anonymous, this would be the same as doing:
They've already outlined the difference earlier in this thread. DoctorN replaces the link with the "confirm" button, rather than essentially clicking twice for you.
Has any member of staff considered changing the native TORN UI to better reflect how many people apparently prefer to use it?
Not a solution to DKK’s gripes, but I’d say it qualifies as “listening to the community” if some changes were to be made based off of popular scripts/plugins.
The “Are you sure?” question throughout torn seems unnecessary mostly. For example when selecting a race car, buying from market, using consumables, busting people from jail, ...
Not saying all of these should be instant per sé by default, but a preference per user could be a good middleground.
So what you are saying is you asked staff is something was legal and they said yes. Then months later they decided it wasn't. I know that has never happened before but I have a strange feeling of Deja vu. Should traders that used no confirm be worried that they will have 8 months of profit removed from their accounts?
I understand that it's harmless, but it sticks with the rules of no "automated actions". I never want to see a script creator, especially of this magnitude, pull their scripts...especially when most of them are just quality of life improvements. I apologize for my original misunderstanding, but this is unfortunately how the rules are written and must be adhered to.
I think it is harmless, but actually I believe the "Stupid" part is that this has been deemed illegal, but simply removing the thing that would otherwise need automated clicking, makes the whole process legal. Should really consider the logic there
Dare I suggest have a process where users can submit a script for review and have it cleared for use. Or a way to submit for a waiver to an arbitrary rule that other scripts have work-arounds for. If the intent is the same and it achieves essentially the same outcome one should not be illegal because of a technicality.
This part still makes zero sense to me. I can do a single click to use items like xanax, boosters, etc... via quick items. In the crimes tab I can literally click my quick crime 1 time and it does it for me. Does this not mean it is bypassing me having to twice? Normally I have to select a crime and then a sub-crime.
Seems a bit weird to me. DoctorN is saving me a click. This script is saving me a click. And let's not forget how dumb of a thing it is having to confirm so many actions. And does this really give people an advantage? The advantage I see is saving my wrist some clicks or even better, taps when on mobile. On mobile the confirmations can be extra annoying.
I don't think it's a matter of what it does. But how it does it.
I think in this case the best thing to suggest is not to change the script rules but, as suggested above, have an in-game option for having confirm buttons or not.
