Do you feel that Torn has some unwritten rules, and if so what are they?

This may be unwritten rules for chats, for companies, for factions, for gambling, for gameplay, etc.

The the game has been around forever, so I am sure there are some out there!

Don't be stupid and you're good

Definitely has unwritten rules that get enforced by the community.

1. Don't steal from your faction/faction mates.

2. If you're fairly new and enter Global, expect to be hospitalized or bountied. Nothing personal, just seen as initiation, however, it's calmed down a lot.

3. Don't shit post or spam. Good way to get unwanted attention.

4. Don't beg for shit. Instead, ask for help and make your own way.

I'm sure there's more but that's just off the top of my head.

Don't Hospitalize mission targets unless it is a requirement of the mission
Don't Hospitalize targets from leveling lists

Mugging is accepted by all but buying from bazaar and then mugging is scummy

don't buy karma, don't harass people too much which bounting, never spam, hit-counters are not allowed

unofficial ones: don't be a retard and hos someone overseas, don't buy-mug, don't beg after your first day, take xanax every day. don't attack/mug/scam/harass your faction mates.

I'm pretty sure the most fun I've ever had in this game was keeping people hosped overseas. I managed to keep 3 people hosped for almost 3 weeks.

Don't make accusations you can't prove.

Sure, maybe you got buymugged. Maybe someone was watching the market and hit you when they saw your stuff sell. Either way, you 're not getting your shit back, and now you have an enemy you don't need.



Use the forum search before asking a question that seems obvious. You'll just get hated on otherwise.

"How do you buy ammo?"

There's a 100 threads answering it. Search Q&A or ask your faction.



Watch your mouth.

Mouthing off in the forums or chat will get you and possibly your faction in trouble. Remember: There are real people behind the usernames. And people hold grudges.

Don't cry over stuff like buy mugs, mugs, bounties, getting hospitilized, getting scammed, being a newb in the forums or in public platforms. No one cares.
mugs bounties and in hosp? its the game. Why are you playing a mafia game if getting hit was gonna bother you so much?
Buy mugs? there are ways to prevent these its always your fault for getting buy mugged. If this one person didn't buy mug you another wouldve a few seconds later so use your brain and use the methods avaliable to you to avoid these like the rest of us.

Got scammed? Trade mugged? bought the wrong item? Learn from the experience rather than crying about it and ruining the game for yourself. Learn how to check the signs of a scammer. Lots of enemies compared to friends, named realistassassin, etc. Check the trade to see if the shit is there. Caculate the amount you are supposed to get and make sure you get it.

If you hit someone for a Chain bonus hit, either make sure they're not in a faction or be prepared to send a message.
