People should not fear authority they need to respect them. These people are just that people who dedicate there lives to protect us. Years ago a Mpls PD was having a coffee break and was shot in his back and died. the reason was a 3 young black men wanted to kill a cop that night, did not care who. Where was his justice? The 3 are sitting in the same prison as Derik Chauvin is being held, eating ice cream and watching cable tv, how ironic is that? Jerry Haaf RIP.

Philando Castile death, every cop in the state had a target on his back, I remember citizens would stand guard while officers did normal routine activities, like pump gas. It was not a good time to be a peace officer. It has not gotten ant better, that is why they can not hire or retain good cops, you want to go to work each day knowing people want you dead for doing your job?

LAS VEGAS (AP) — An officer has been shot in Las Vegas and authorities are responding to another shooting as people protest the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, authorities said.

No they don't and respect is earned (which they are failing at by shutting down protests with mace/pepper spray, less than lethal rounds, and gas and that's just during this) not given due to a badge

The second incident occurred around 11:22 p.m. at the courthouse on South Las Vegas Boulevard. Officers were posted at the federal building to protect it from protesters when a suspect appeared, armed with multiple weapons.

When authorities approached the individual, the suspect reached for one of those weapons and was subsequently shot by the responding officers.

Sounds like a certain extremist right wing group who like walking around with their weapons but will have to wait for more info

A bystander who livestreamed the incident said the people gathered in the parking lot outside Dino's Food Mart were not there to protest.

"We were just out there chilling," Kris Smith, whose Facebook Live video recorded shots being fired, said in another video on Monday.

"We weren’t protesting... We were just having a good time. We were eating... We were listening to music, having a good time," Smith said. "That’s all we were doing out there."
