Some merits that are listed under racing are super easy to get if i was to create a custom race and grind it out like -
win 100 races or achieve a DS of 10
do i have to race in official events to add 1 win to my record or could i do it in custom races, same for the DS would that increase in a custom race? if yes, what is the quickest way (without moving companies) to increase DS
You could grind wins and DS by doing custom races, and it will go a bit faster, but there is also a merit for earning 2,500 racing points which you can only get through doing official races. Those other merits will come naturally on your way towards 2,500 points.
Driver Skill of 10 takes longer than you'd think. Gains get slower as your skill gets higher. But time racing is what it's based on, which is why Docks 100 laps is what's recommended if you're just letting it sit and trying to gain skill, it's the longest track lap time.
Crashing is also a relatively "easy" racing merit, but is pretty random in its chances.
I believe a recent forum post stated that driving skill was gained by distance travelled in races rather than time racing.. If time were the factor you could put your Robin Reliant in for a nice 100 lap docks race if not worried about flying that day (or two) Custom docks races are still the best race for gaining the DS, especially if you choose ones that will start in next 15 minutes or so.
Personally I got my 2500 race points and 10DS before hitting the docks custom races, mainly because i wanted those points on upgrading cars for different races. Also i noticed that i won a lot less official races after reaching DS 10.. this is probably coincidence and I have no stats to offer on this.. just how it seemed to me..
As for your 100 wins... someone has mentioned already, just set up a quick 1 lap speedway race with a friend and you can both knock them out quickly.. maybe one of you using a class A and other using a class B or C car for quick turnaround of custom races...
The mechanic's job is fine, but you should know that racing points acquired from jobs don't count towards the merits. They will allow you to fully upgrade cars and win more races, so they will help you get the merits sooner, but only indirectly.
yeah i want to get into racing full time and would like a fleet of cars so its a faster way for me to upgrade them along side if i crash (have done twice already) i wont loose any parts
