I really need to start generating some passive income. Could anyone please recommend a guide to the best ways to do this? Or maybe explain what you think is the best way to generate PI, and what has worked for you?
The stock market is your friend. A few off the BBs will pay themselves off in under or around a year. Besides that, you're best course of action is to take the advice that some people left in another recent thread and travel, as it is the best income for a newer player and is how many pay for their PI's. If you want to try to get a bit of a short cut, try to get into a 10* property broker and finish the "Law of Property" edu. They will cut the costs of purchasing and upgrading any properties you buy. Beyond that, the only other perk would be ELBT which is more expensive than a 4525 PI.
2 months of hunting is a PI worth of money, so start going back n forth to SA to establish some basic money, like a swift billion to get your own PI and some stock bb and then continue with your normal gameplay.
Also 3x merits for hunting and one for 50 trips to SA.
99% of my torn income is passive but it wasn't always like this. To have passive income you need to sink money into investments that will payout over time, i can let you know how i got started
Travel and make money and using other methods (trading, slutting for your first few mils, reviving, spies, etc) Keep investing to bank for 1 week and adding to the amount till you get to 2bil That'll keep you occupied for a couple months.
Then you can get the Good Stock benefits, which takes an year or two of money sinking.
I've gotten to this stage and i'm looking to generate more ways of passive income :)
Yup, build up econ with awareness + hunting while beefing nnb, then go for a happy jumping spree.
Similar stats after a year while you have always access to a solid income from hunting if you run dry on money. You get 3 merits from hunting so much like drug crimes it's better to get it early.

New players are way better off renting a pi for a month or so at a time, flying for trading(main income), and training. Higher stats make more broad options for making money and obtaining merits.
If are you are struggling for ways to make money then i always suggest this guide, its not the fastest system of making money but helps to make a constant income
PI is just a minor happiness increase, training three months with 30k happy is roughly equal to one month of 90k trains, if you gym with 10k happy it's a complete waste of E.
This change once you have higher stats, so hit the softcaps as soon as possible by heavy happyjumps and then you can just gym with your E and not care much about the happiness.
Please don't go hunting in SA. It is barely profitable until you've spent thousands of energy getting your skill up and even then its less than lucrative. There are merits for it but they won't earn you a PI.
But hunting means you won't have energy to train or attack for all those months. Is that really worth it? Even slutting with all that energy would make you more money.

[/background]Nope, No, Nah, and Never Happiness Level vs. Gym gains isn't linear i.e 30k H = 3 x 10k in gains It affects stats less and less the higher you go, exponentially I believe

The PI is a "minor" increase of anywhere from 2700-5025 happy that you just said increases your gym gains three-fold?
Gymming with 10k happy is better than spending 150e for... $10k? That 10k happy utilized to jump for maybe $6m total would be more benevolent than $10k spent to jump for, i dont even know, <2700 happy. Hunting won't earn you enough in the near future to pay for the items you'd need to make up for the fact that you wasted your e.

This is coming out of left field here. Yes, you're gains are higher at higher stats. You need to have better happiness and more e spent in the gym to begin with to get there. Happy jumps are not cost efficient beyond a certain stat-point of ~400k in each, so you'd be wasting that money you're trying to earn by doing so. When you get to stat-cap, happy still matters. Happiness doesn't stop helping at the stat-cap, that gym gains stop increasing exponentially at that point. If you jump in with 100 happy at 50m you'll train as much as someone with 5k happy with much lower stats.
