Afternoon everyone! I'll be posting the URT summer schedule in the newspaper later this week, but I thought I'd let the racing community see it first. As ever, we're in need of some stewards to kindly lend us their time in return for a few DPs, so if anyone is interested in setting up some races for us, here are our plans.

WARMUP

25th-30th July

This stage is intended as a practice run for any new stewards, while also allowing rookie drivers to see where they stand. These will be run whenever stewards and myself are available over the five day period.

QUALIFIERS

31st July - 3rd August

Four days of qualifiers will each provide 12 drivers who will take part in an expanded tournament of 48 total drivers. We need reliable stewards from all time zones to help us set up races throughout the day and night. Races should be set to start at 1am, 6am, 10am, 1pm, 6pm, and 10pm, but can be opened up between 1-2 hours prior to this.

GROUP STAGE

5th -10th August

The 48 drivers will be split into 8 groups who will each race on six different tracks over six consecutive days. We therefore need eight people to each run a group by themselves, setting up one race at the same time each day. Times to be discussed.

KNOCKOUT ROUNDS

12th, 13th, 15th, 16th August

The top three drivers from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals on the 12th. All four quarter-finals will require their own steward. The top three drivers from each quarter-final will qualify for the semi-finals on the 13th. These two semi-finals will also require a steward each. A runner-up final for the three drivers who failed to qualify from each semi will take place on the 15th. Our final six drivers will race for the title on the 16th.

If you would like to help out with this year's URT, please drop me a message to my inbox with the title STEWARD. Thank you!

Stewards set up the race at a designated time (usually 1 or 2 hours ahead of the race time for qualifiers, longer ahead for later rounds).

They stay in the race. So if you steward a qualifier, you could in theory qualify out if your own race if you're good/lucky enough.

The big thing is attention to detail. It's very important to get the race time, track, laps, etc exactly right for qualifiers and all that plus passwords right for later rounds.

Thanks for the answer. I would like to help but seeing I'm in class C so I probably can't even set up the race configuration requirements. Either way is cool to see a big player tournament like this. Even more in a part of the game that seems to run parallel from everything else.

Hi. This is wonderful
I want to participate but I'm very much a rookie. I just got promoted to D Class. How do I join the race and how will everything work?

Hey there, Racers and Organizers,

As we have discussed with SV, I'm happy to be one of your stewards this year as well as last year (aaand as next year of course).

Can't wait to see you fly. :)
