I notice people have been warning/complaining about buy muggers. Then why don't they agree on trading using DPs in big trades (BB stocks, buy faction, rare items, etc. - trades that have total value from hundreds of millions+)? All it has to do is to agree on a set price for DP (24m, for example) and the remaining change will be done by cash but it won't be that much to be mug worthy anymore.
Just wondering why people haven't been doing this? It's much safer and you can discreetly pawn these for cash later on.

The term for that would be barter and I think it's avoided because of item price fluctuations. It also needs a lot more work but I do think it's being done by some already :)
Along the way I did a few trades this way, items for items (A mask for a lot of items and 5 years worth of FHCs, BOMs, etc for DPs) It is a safe way to trade but has its risks.
Price fluctuations, being left with the DPs, harder to calculate compared with a simple copy paste calculator, etc
If you are an active player you need cash to invest. If you want to go afk, yeah, I would keep the money in stable items.
People are do and have been doing this ...and have for many years if they are smart ...
You are right to be wary of being buy mugged ie having trades cancelled and people mugging you. There are a lot of vultures and cockroaches playing this game ...
Any real honest fair player will take your dps, xanax and maybe other stuff as well instead of cash in a trade ie flowers, plushies, alcohols, candies etc
A trader wants to get the deal done and some items are so easy to sell on they will take them in a trade instead of money.
Trading isnt just about the money some items can be sold very easily, they can be used instead of money in a trade.
The field mice are right to be terrified when trading. But not all the time. There are traders you can trade with who will take your money instead of items and they would never think of any act of cowardice.
