I don't disagree that the event should be respected. I disagree with punishing people for using a game feature as intended. Surely bogie could close the raceway or something? URT is not a new event, nor is trolling. You can put a stronger system in place, or deal with the consequences.

No one is stopping anyone from using the game feature, they just get punished as a result of their action as explicitly stated long ago.

Honestly, not all people read the newspaper. I hardly do unless I'm looking for something very specific. If people then wanna do stuff for the lulz, they should not be fedjailed for it. However dubiously they may have been warned somewhere else. Scamming, being an arse, total twats et all is just fine but oh no someone made a race with a name and now people are confused? Deal with it. You can't just ban someone that's playing within the rules, yet outside of your liking.

Rules are listed on the rules page and they should be uphold. Not specifically in there? Then boohoo, you joined a wrong race because you didn't read properly yourself...

Sorry but that's not even close to the same principle.

Ched + devs have 100% power to do whatever they want within their own system, for sure. They put out a competition for everyone and people use the clearly defined possibilities put in place for years by said system to join, use or troll said system, as they always do, every single time. A silly little notification in an article that pretty much no one will read (sorry sugarvalves) shouldn't absolve the developers, staff or officers from adhering to the systems they themselves put in place. We could create our own races and name them as we please yesterday and we can do that today too, no system has been put in place to prevent that apart from a tiny little notice in an article that practically nobody reads.

Now if you want to prevent people from creating their own races with a certain name, meaning or accessibility you could certainly do so, provided you have somewhat competent developers at your disposal. I guess that's where the crux of the matter lies.

Just to be clear, I don't think making fake URT races should be allowed, but acting like the fake URT races are being handled in any way but pissing on a fire you set yourself is laughable. Don't whisper a set of rules into your own hands and expect everyone to hear them.

Sugarvalves and Bogie and Ched have authority to do so, you can set up your own race and tiny print but it means nothing.

A lot of effort goes into these Torn events, and Torn events and the impact on the masses are much greater than some trolls who think it is funny to disrupt this work. If you decide to not read an article or rules of an event than that is up to you, but ignorance isn't a get out of jail free card as far as I am aware.

It's a community event, why would you want to automate this? Most stewards, probably all, actually enjoy this.

Congrats to all the Qualifiers so far.... Now that you 24 are in, easier for me to qualify in the next 48 hours ;)
