What is the reason to either create or be apart of a faction. Like the pro’s and cons?
i literally never really looked into it i joined a couple but i would log on and always be in the hospital so i stayed away

I would suggest joining one well before creating one (lots of money/time/effort).

You get training perks, nerve perks, people to enjoy the game with, can help you learn how to play/navigate torn, usually flying perks such as more item capacity. There are also merits to be had (length of being in a faction). Typically you will chain in factions and this will help you get attack/respect merits

If you go here you can post that you’re looking to join a faction and someone will message you about joining theirs.

This has been asked before, so you can also peek at this thread for essentially the same thing https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=3&t=16151716&b=0&a=0&start=0&to=20154943

I would 100% recommend joining a faction, even if just for the social aspect.

you'd be in hospital because of things like wars, where people from two factions attack each other to sit on a 'wall' to gain points over time and in the end your faction either gains the territory connected to the wall, or you defend the incoming attack.

different factions are waring at different frequencies. for instance many of the factions i was in only war once 2 weeks at most. the benefits of waring are generally to gain mroe respect through various means during/after the war, and respect is the currnecy used to buy the perks like kelsie described above,

The perks n the social aspect.
Hospital is not scary place to be btw.
I didn't believe it when someone told me that when I was really new
Now I have daily expenses and timer to keep me in hosp
Join a faction. A good one. You will not regret it

The pros outweigh the cons depending on the faction, for example trt its basically all cons but if you join like pt or nuke or even a decent growing faction you will have much more pros then cons. There are many reasons why its good but i won't bother to list them all because its different for every faction. Best thing to do find a faction that matches your playstyle and look into their history cos you don't want to join someone who will put you off from the game

Depending on when you joined factions the experience is really different. Just know that if you tried factions a long time ago when filler factions were a thing that they're not anymore. There's less getting hospitalized than before and more enjoying benefits and chaining.

Also don't make a faction, it's not really worth it. Starting respect is low so you don't have any benefits to attract players and you can't do the big chains that make up the bulk of your respect (You'll need to do a lot of 10 chains to get enough respect to unlock 25 chains and it's rough until you get up to the higher chain levels). Joining an established faction is always a good choice or buying one on the forums if you actually want to lead it (though it's expensive and time intensive).

As for the best pros - Criminality (Has upgrades for +crime exp and max nerve), Fortitude (Can decrease reviving cost to 25e), Voracity (Increased energy drink effectiveness, increase in max booster cooldown), Toleration (-overdose chance, -addiction), Excusion (+carry capacity, lower rehab costs if that's your thing), Steadfast (+gym gains). Factions probably won't have all of these so pick a faction that has what you want. Criminality, Toleration, Steadfast are pretty standard choices with Fortitude being taken by reviving factions. Also helpful for newer players is factions can lend out equipment and medical items.

There aren't really any cons as long as you pick a good faction for you. Different factions have different requirements, some have stat requirements/activity requirements. Stat requirements I find are flexible, sometimes you can talk to the leader and get an exception to let you in. Activity requirements differ, minimum I think would be logging in once per day (Most factions should at least be running organized crimes I think) and most would be once per day plus chaining (However long you can stay on, doing a minimum of x hits) and wall sitting (Depending on how the current climate works out, heard some factions planned on dropping fake wars due to the extra respect not being worth it anymore). If you pick a faction that matches your activity level everything should all work out and you'll grow faster than before.
