What do you all think?
Is this fair? Is it a good way of deterring multi/bot farms?
what do you think is the secret formula?

Edit: - Removed additional activity requirements for company employees causing sudden effectiveness loss as of 11th May 2021

Is this now back to it worked before?

Mentions: Employee star drop

I'm open to tweaks to this or reverting it entirely if it's completely ineffective, it's too early to tell yet really, but it would only affect a player if they've been doing literally nothing for weeks, that would mean - no training, no crimes, no travelling etc.

One fairly simple solution is to just check their personal stats to see if they are even doing anything in Torn, if they are (even semi-regularly) then there'd be no changes to how it compares to the old system.

I think what people will fail to realise here is that their legitimate companies and directors will stand to do better here as the ones filled with possible bots and multis will just sink - My apologies for those who will have a few hits here and there, but this pales in comparison to larger knowing illegitimate groups.

I think It may need slight tweaks over the coming days/weeks but in the grand scheme of things is a good change.

Speaking from past experience of going inactive, if someone in your company is only logging on and not doing anything else (so this effects them) then they’re likely to drop off completely in a week or 2 anyway. You just need to replace them slightly sooner.

Very valid point and the biggest issue I can see, even if information needed to remain restricted. A post with limited information could have been posted.

That’s if they are actually a real person.

i reckon most of those who have dropped to zero stars are likely bots/multis anyway - and by not making it public it’s highlighted to company owners just what kind of employees they have.

Yes something in the patch notes along the line of

-Measures taken to deter multis and bots within companies

would have sufficed
Matty_h [48911]
And if that’s the case surely it’s done it’s job?

Also how many of these bots/multis will now start to use the same E each day to “beat the system” making it easier for staff to spot them.

Exactly, was extremely surprised to log on today to a 1 lightning player, who has been consistent and a good employee. Knocked a good amount of cash from income.

Are we as employers supposed to force players to log on, then make them click now? Recruiting them is a pain in the arse already.

How does this tie in with walls/wall sitters?

You punish companies because the players are not making active actions, would the same player be overlooked with auto wall selection? I.e are Factions also being asked/subjected to do same checks or is it just companies you are targeting with this update.
Knuff [1875013]
It they are bots/multis, they should be fedded right away.
So no need for this system if they already have an algorithm saying they are multis.

This system is just a lazy alternative to actually doing the job of fedding main accounts. Even if they find one, it gets what? 7 day temp ban?

it is a pain in the ass but I predict a lot of companies will fall away now. Too many directors don't know what they are doing and skate along until now. That could be a good thing for directors who put in the work.

- Changed employee efficiency to decrease if there's no significant gameplay for a long time

Yeah, there we go. Don't like the move though.
Christ [1915488]
Yeah, it will definitely shrink the employee market, basically putting pressure on the companies that don't have necessarily "active" employees such as Log's and TV's.

Most of those players tend to log in once in a while, and you really want to kick them, but can't seem to find a replacement unless they want 5 million or something.

Alot of company directors are probably going to simply sell back to the game. We'll see.
Andyman [471591]
Based on the Torn economic report, I suspect a lot of players who we think are "active" only login to Torn to use their daily casino tokens. Do you even go through a CAPTCHA check when entering the casino?

Like bogie said - Just check the personal stats of your 0-star employees and check to see if they are doing crimes. If they are doing crimes and their last action was less than 1 day ago, something might be up.
Mud [1740734]
But one would think using casino tokens would constitute "activity" in this new "significant gameplay" detector.
