Group Chats

Torn should add group chats. Currently you can’t communicate with two or more people unless your in a company or faction.
You should be able to create a group chat and an event should show up saying something like “user420 invites you to join a group chat with user69, user999, and user1.”
once joining the group chat there should be a mini pop up on the bottom of your screen like for example faction chat and company chat.
What else is there need to be said?

This would be awesome but chat barely works most of the time as is. So I don't have high hopes for new features.

i see where your coming from, personally only 90 days of torn experience i haven’t had any major issues with chat. saying it barely works might be overstretching it but i still see where your coming from

I wouldn't mind it, but that's mainly what I see discord for. I would agree the game could use a new way to allow you to talk to your "friends" that aren't faction or company mates. Will be interesting to see if its a future thought, as it would bring a new social aspect to Torn, being able to discord group some factions or people in different areas of the game together "in-game" to talk could have serious benefits for mobile players not using a chatting app (discord) or simply people that dont want another thing to check. On that note, I'm kinda with Zach on this one though, I'd imagine it being a while before a new system or add on to chat is implemented and I'd prefer the chat system running full par before its changed or customized.

your absolutely right group chats would make it a lot easier for mobile players and also it would do a great job at keeping player interactions within the game instead of having to use a third-party communication app such as discord or any other apps. Your completely right as this would take LOTS of tweaking to make chat all around better! but with time there will be results !!

Group chats used to exist. I don’t know why they were removed. Good idea +

Honestly when I started Torn and find the chats and the forums I was expecting something like that, the minimum was at least a friendly shared forum, something you could talk to a restricted group not being company or faction.

Would love to be able to have group chats without having to use Discord. I am 99% mobile so Discord is just a pain.

Hopefully chat 2.0 whenever that happens.

Speaking of factions, faction leaders could use the group chat to coordinate with alliance leaders.

This sounds extremely fiddly, like the number of individual chats are already pretty annoying, group chats on top of these would add to the complexity

WAR is EXACTLY what they would talk about. Instead 3+ individual chats going on just 1 would be needed.

I don't see group chats being a big quality of life improvement in the game.

Just my opinion

think about not having to use a third party communication app to connect with others. if torn had a groupchat system it would make group communication easier. without having to switch back and forth to a different app.
