WAR BETWEEN THE HOOD ALLIANCE VS MMCP, SMTH AND SUBS COMES TO A CLOSE
After over a month of gruelling warring, warriors from both sides finally get to lay down their weapons. What started as a straightforward mission of gaining a few territories ended up being bloodshed for both sides. In this war the bloodshed consisted of: territories lost, factions abandoning their post, faction respect lost, vast amounts of resources and money used. Some would even say wasted.
SMTH, Trisolary and Silver Hand were repelled entirely from their initial spot and settled near MMCP after intense fighting against TheHood Alliance, which included multiple raids and a DB on MMCP from Vinerri when MMCP joined in on the bloodbath. In Memory of the Fallen and its sub had initially agreed to fight alongside The Hood Alliance but opted to back out when raids started since it was not part of their plan to go that route. They went as far as to give SMTH territories belonging to the alliance, thereby prolonging part of our mission. Consequently, we repelled them from the area as well. Some of the other The Hood Alliance factions quietly asked to excuse themselves from the war when the going got tough. We will remain friendly with them, but they are no longer under our protection.
Was it all worth it? Hell, yeah! I’m reminded of the incessant wars that occurred in the ol’ days, where no territories to take over existed, no rackets to make money existed, no faction respect to spend on perks existed, and yet we warred. That is because it was fun, and it was a crime game, after all. This war brought back some fun in the game. In speaking with alliance members, most felt this way as well. For that, we have our adversary to thank. We highly respect their fighting spirit and enjoyed the fight enormously. Both sides fought valiantly. The war brought members together and allowed us to trim the unworthy ones, only to make us stronger.
As the main negotiator for the alliance, I can tell you that there were heated moments, but cooler heads prevailed. I want to thank ColdSystem for working diligently with me so that we could put this war to an end. Both he and I were on the same wavelength, and an end would not have been reached without his help and effort. Although incredibly fun, there comes a time when a war must end. Our initial goal of gaining territories had been achieved, and the myriad of raids was only hurting both sides. Although many players feel that raids are useless, they are an effective part of war in Torn, and they have their place as part of an overall plan, but they do come at an expense.
Like him or not, PK the leader of Vinerri and the alliance has the strategical and tactical mindset to meet the aim of an objective. Once the mission was set in motion, there would be nothing from stopping him from achieving his goal during this war. He enjoyed himself tremendously and gets to step down as leader with an amazing war as part of his legacy. Consequently, I have been asked by the alliance leadership to lead the fitter and more vibrant alliance, which I gladly accepted.
