The weapon your opponent used, the Rheinmetall MG 3, has a special bonus ability called "Blindfire," which essentially allows it to fire many different shots in a single turn and this is what you're seeing here. This is all intended and quite unique to that weapon, so it's totally understandable this may be seen as a bug.
