We would like you to build a map using the Christmas Town map editor. Your map should be fun to play, creative in its design, and take players on some kind of adventure, story, or otherwise interesting experience. The grand prize for this competition is a Gold AK47, with four other high-value items paid out to four additional winners. A selection of runner-ups will also be given secondary prizes at the organisers’ discretion.

For help making a map, please consult Proxima’s guide.


COMPETITION RULES

Make a creative Christmas Town map using the official Map Editor.

Post a link to your map below, along with two screenshots.

Existing maps can be entered, so long as they meet the entry criteria.

Your map should be no smaller than 100x100 tiles, give or take, but we would allow some variation close to this at our discretion.

The map should be creative in its design, and take players on an adventure, story, or otherwise interesting experience. No boring loot runs!

Please do not include anything which breaches the Torn rules, or your entry will be disqualified.

One entry per person. Players may work together on a map but only one prize will be given per map.

Players must be level 10 or higher to use the CT map editor.

Entries close at midnight on Sunday 10th of January, 2021.

Five winners ranked in order will be chosen by a team of judges. The winner will receive the Gold AK, with the remaining four allowed to pick from the following prize pool: Santa Hat ‘04, Christmas Cracker ‘04, Christmas Card ‘09, Christmas Stocking ‘09, Snowflake ‘05..

A selection of players will be sent runner-up prizes at the organisers’ discretion.

I created this last year. Its a pretty big map. I have lots of areas. including all games/shops/vote stations. Includes a labyrinth to find the exit to which will lead to the new mountain/cliffs, Chedburn mansion and eventually a series of questions where the last cave has Santa/chests/all games in it. It also has a few teleport squares and lots of traps to either send you to hospital or Jail.

New for 2020 - Cheds Private Boat Hire access to your private island, castle or trailer park, A prison break, Mines, Sewers, Snowy Cliffs, Chedburn Mansion (with Inside & outside area) and ..several ways into the end game dungeons (Find Santa).. Not enough story for a snowglobe this year but next year I will be working on that !

here is the suggested competition entry for my firs attempt it is....well, closer to Duke's fecal matter than a challenge,
the only really challenging aspect is that you don't get any olfactory warnings before tou step in it.

Come on down to the Christmas Tree Track where you'll find all your favorite Christmas Town games! Along the way you'll be able to stop off at the graveyard, next to Christmas Wreath, and be able to view the Grinch safely with him stuck up high on a cliff, you could take a right at Santa Claws and find the spawn point of Santa with all his elves friends, continue to the tippy top of the tree and see the rich village full of fancy houses and the only place rich enough to plant any nature trees and continue down the left side to visit the action packed carnival where you'll be able to see the Torn City freak show where I'm sure most of you will feel right at home! At the bottom of the map you can purchase all the candy, beer and gifts you desire with the tokens you earn along the way as well as find all the presents (chests) Santa has left this year underneath the tree (where else would they be?) with almost 350 spawn points for those and if you happen to be very unlucky you can take a trip to the first aid section at the very bottom where our top doctors and nurses will patch you right back up. Have fun!

(TIP: stick to the main track to be super speedy on your way around the map!)

The Grinch That Kidnaped Santa


Here is my entry into the competition:

Find the elves to give you clues. on how to find were The Grinch is holding Santa... Your journey will take you from the town, and through a hedge maze, and an ice cave, you will have to trek down a frozen gorge and embark on a boat ride to the mysterious Fantasy Island, a place full of games and treasures. Hidden within one of the rides you will discover the Terror tunnels, beyond which is a snowy mountainside. and when you find and release Santa - should the powers who be approve - you might get a snowglobe.... OK so you might not get one, but here is hoping...

take a walk in my shoes by taking a stroll on The Postmans Walk, take a look around the graveyard, the fairground / campsite and try not to get lost in the invisible maze.
Plenty of Spawnpoints, all the good stuff is at the top in one place for ease of playing.
Explore the rest of the map for Gifts and Chests and of course Santa Himself.

Get caught by the grinch or the couple of rabid dogs ( Tigers ) and you will end up in the First Aid tent or one of the unused graves in the graveyard.

Wookards XMAS Town

I hear there is a underground Ice Cave in my Town. It appears that there is an annual Festival there but the owner has lost his Lion. Can you find the Cave and more importantly his missing Lion?

You start out in the East part of the map.There are a lot of fantastic games to play in the Town. But be careful if you travel out as in the North you will run into a old Scrap Yard. Watch out for the dogs and rats though. A Cemetery that appears to be haunted for real and for some reason lots of dug up graves. Also what looks like a rugged range of cliffs... I wonder what could be up there as there are reports of a lot of strange crystals forming up there!

To the West there is the Prison, and an Industrial Area and a lot water. So be sure to stay away unless you are trying to find some treats.

In the South there is a big area to Celebrate Christmas and try out some skating.

I present you Buche De Noel. The name was inspired by Christmas dessert, tried to make my map as sweet and aesthetically appealing as possible. Storyline has two separate branches. There are crossovers, we have Penguins of Madagascar- Rico, Kowalski, Skipper and Private, each one of them has a certain role that will be discovered later. The other story line follows Snow White who was put in the coffin thanks to her step mommy and players can volunteer to find her. I am not explaining in detail on purpose. Teleports play a huge role overall, sometimes you have to find the specific spot to reach a certain place.

Here are screenshots of what I have put in the map, the only sad thing is you can't see it in its full glory due to the grid limitation when you are in the map so here goes...

A big thank you to Smokey123 who helped me with the basics of the map building, and the logic of parameters.
