I play it on ocasion, but its close to the bottom of my list in Paradox's grand strategy games...

Atm i think my list goes about:

HoI IV < Imperator Rome < Stellaries < CK II < EU IV < CK III

Guess i take swords over alliens or tanks...

But its a good game, just not my favourite cup of tea.

HOI4 is a great game. CK is great as, you can turn your family tree into a wraith, and retake the holy lands.

Stellerais will always be my favorite as, you can commit space war crimes, you can take over the space UN and yell "I AM THE SENATE *papa shivv noises*, you can live out the dreams of killing every xeno (for the emperor of course).

10/10 would commit some space war crimes.

But in Stellaris you can't behead and eat the pope or marry your son with his mother and then marry their daughter.

CK III is a new level of WTf**kery that none of the others can compare.

But again, its not that i don't enjoy Stellaris when i actually play it, i just like others more.

If anything for my space related "fixes" i usually go for X4 Foundations instead.

I loved stellaris when it first come out. I'm not even really into winning lol the endgame is crazy strong i normally take over 80% of the galaxy with a army 1/4 strength of the final boss event. Haven't played since the syndicate / corporate thing come out. Super great game tho.

Still love civ 5 better though something about the turn based is more comfortable for me.

If you played it when it first came out then you would have been playing on 1x crisis strength. You can crank that up to 25x now :o can you imagine 25 times as many crisis ships? :O

Also do any of you guys play Stellaris multiplayer at all then? :D

I'm interested to see if i can still beat the thing on ensign which i think was the easiest difficulty. I won with federation a few times while i was trying to get the psychic shields tech and get the psionic ascension. I was in for a big surprise after a few trips into the void for "free" gifts lol!

I like the premise of the game more than i enjoy playing it tbh.

On the one hand i wanna make an army and smash everyone with superior tech in superior numbers. But on the other hand i don't want a stunted empire and years of attrition, from where i didn't focus on expansion to lock down key resources. And i don't wanna be the #1 enemy of the galaxy who nobody will ally or trade with either.

It's weird to for me to play a middling game where i don't grind borders with too many nations, with advance research, and next to no military. Feels like I'm not really winning at anything for the best part of a few hours. But it also gets tiring playing fanatic religious+military lol. I swap to authoritarian materialist sometimes which is pretty great for economy and research.
