If you selected 2 mil, then the system automatically bids for you up to 2 mil. So if anyone tries bidding 1.5m on the item, the system will auto-bid 1,500,001 on your behalf and you will see the updated number …

I bidded 2m for an item and 2m was removed from my wallet but the bid shows $1

If you selected 2 mil, then the system automatically bids for you up to 2 mil. So if anyone tries bidding 1.5m on the item, the system will auto-bid 1,500,001 on your behalf and you will see the updated number on the auction page. If the auction ends there, you get the item and 500k back. If someone outbids your full 2 mil, then the entire 2 mil is returned to you. This way, you only pay slightly more than what other wants to pay at most.
