Started out few years ago with the idea that if I would just save up on enough torn dollars one could actually play this game premium for free. It was a unique concept in mmo land.
However, years of saving torn dollars later at the point where networth pays for DP's and suddenly premium has inflated away with everything else in this game; money, items, donator packs. Look at the market item amounts, with some there's 1000's of items dumped in waves when prices are in danger to hyperinflate. DP's on the other are deflating to the point ppl are probably mostly just selling them right back into the game...
Who is running this economy, Paul Krugman?
Subscribers... their competitive advantage vs simple donators has gotten out of hand and it's destroying the play for premium feature.
But then again, of course without a doubt there is a whole team of developers to be paid working on 2.0........ so I guess we should show some understanding for this funding strategy....
I was wondering how Deft was doing it. He's using books!!!!!11!
Waaaaait a second. In the same breath you mention one-month-long one-time-use books and the fact that it's a long term grind. You sure that makes sense? Should you really have emphasized that it's a long term grind in that sentence where you're trying to paint the books as OP?
Yeah well I mean it's the cost of a cheeseburger once a month for something I use once every day, why not. You should be thanking us for keeping a game you obviously enjoy alive for you to play free
Games like this derive worth from their network externalities ie the amount of ppl that are playing it. I am almost at 1000 donator days, that's 1000 donator days somebody paid dollars for... ched exchanged me some server capacity, I exchanged in game funds to somebody who exchanged his outside funds for something ched had I wanted and he could afford
One thing I always find amusing is how SE's which, hear me out, give a permanent 1% increase to a particular stat, is being sold for 400 mil + while vicodin, which gives a temporary 25% boost to ALL stats is sold for 5k...
I mean, yes, it's temporary but still all you have to do is just spam the vicodin for it to be permanent-ish.
