wow i wish play this game at 10 years ago seems so fun not much restriction at all

There have been a few holes in the ship that were patched over the years, here are a few of them:
- Busting used to cost energy, but you could self-bust and increase your dexterity by a small % upon success. (Rinse and repeat for huge gains over time)
- Money was much more difficult to obtain in the distant past... so much so that hunting in South Africa was considered a viable income source; however, SEs didn't have a cooldown and I believe they only cost $100M as opposed to the $450M we see today.
- There used to not be mugging protection, so if you happened to come across a target with big-time cash on them, you could chain-mug them and clean 'em out pretty quickly. (Useful if you found an inactive player's bazaar with items worth $200M for sale for $300M... you could simply overpay $100M and get all $300M you spent back AND the items worth $200M.) If their revives were left on, oooof.
- The casino has had a dark past in terms of bleeding money disproportionately to various players... blackjack and the bookies are typically the most notable. Go look at the hall of fame statistics for blackjack and subtract the top winners' winnings from their losses to see for yourself.
- The stock market used to be much more predictable and manipulatable than it is in recent times.
There are still ways to get really rich in Torn with some effort. Poker, trading, scamming, referral schemes, Hi-Lo when the mutiplier gets to like 35%, exchanging real life $ for donator packs, participating in community events, and being given cash by individuals who quit are all quick ways to rise. The days of hoping to compete with BodyBagger 1v1 are over though. He simply has way too large a lead.
Even today, BodyBagger can take advantage of his unique #1 spot and charge folks ~$50m to hold and return their Dogtag. He also has an endless source of weapon experience via the NPCs... he can effectively turn a weapon from 0% experience to 100% weapon experience with just 8 xanax.

I was inactive back then... but i beleive stocks would pay per block... meaning you coukd receive multiple benefits of the same type ... like fhc for example buy 10 blocks and have 10x the fhcs

Ahh we here to begin. Long time ago in a land far far away. There was a man, not any regular man. A man so manly other men were scared of his manlyness. His name was “the stock market”. The stock market was always moody, like he had bipolar disorder he always went from super duper happy to super duper sad in seconds. And anyone who had any brains took advantage of the fact that he was so happy all the time and got him to do lots of nice shit for them...and when he was sad they also took advantage and got them to do lots of nice things for them. So lil “stocky” was just being used and abused all day.
Once came a man named BodyBagger. The man uses poor stocky so much that he went from begging for change and looking for money under seats in movie theaters to snorting coke like tony Montana and pumping iron like Ronnie Coleman. But little did BodyBagger know that other homies caught on too so a brave man named Sifonger decided he wanted to snif coke and pump like Ronnie too so he went and beat on the little BodyBagger and took all his money. BodyBagger was so angry at how Sifonger was treating him so BodyBagger decided to get a gym membership. He went to Duke who said “heyyy what up bruh, I gotchu fam take dis gloves righ herrrre use em train wid em no one beat yah”! So BodyBagger did just that except his first pair lasted him only one time so like captain America in that marvels movie where he has like 10 punching bags lined up and abreast through them all BodyBagger bought so many boxing gloves that he went from having 500mil defense to 300 Trilion. When buying the gloves he knew he could train non stop because there was no limit to what he could achieve. Plus the boxing gloves were so cheap (10mil then 150 then 300) and he had all this money to spend so he didn’t mind. All seemed well in BodyBagger a world his dreams were achieved and he was happy. But then suddenly karma turned on BodyBagger and “god” releases the new and updated commandments called Stocks 2.0 and god said “Thou shal not use more than 4 Gloves a day” and it was so. Lil stocky was overjoyed with joy >.> that no one would ever be able to take advantage of him like that again..... little did he know that Nabisco, Alexstraza, Rgiskard ( or whatever ur name iS), and Hank were already plotting their next move... and lil Cassie (casino) horse racing was already being abused by......
But that’s a story for another time.

My favorite part is that players said that BB exploited SE's before Ched knew it was a loophole but Ched honored his efforts to boost his stats fairly and did not nerf him. One of the many reasons I like playing this game.

old Torn sounds like Hearthstone before Battlegrounds. What a time to be alive.
I played another text game a long time ago and you could go outside the city and if you went afk and someone found you they could mug you and then revive you and then mug over and over until you until they had all their money. It was so ruthless and cut throat...it was great.

Exactly how torn used to be, no cooldown on mugs, no protection.
If you left your revives on and went afk with cash or your bazaar open, you could lose billions in minutes.
Many times I'd done that, bought 100m - 2b worth of stuff and mugged all the money back in a matter of minutes.
Attack logs used to use sequential IDs as well as a side not, so you could manually add one to the number over and over, and when you see a good mug, hop on the mug train using someone elses buy & revives. It was absolutely brutal ngl

it is just me or wut i cant search his id lol
the no mug cooldown was dank af. you could legit just go to the last page of hosp to see who was mugged last and just re-mug as they got out of hosp.
