What does the "Prize" icon mean in CT

I am just curious what it means for a map to have the ? Icon under the prize column. I can't seem to remember it being there last year.

Eh, no. First of all your sentence doesn't make much sense to me at all? NPC = Non-Playable Character. So you are saying "it is a snow globe handed to one of the non-playable characters by staff if they like your game"? What? So staff gives for example Duke a snow globe if they like your map? Why would they do that?

Also, there is only one item called snow globe in Torn. That is The Snow Globe '09. As the name suggests, these were handed out in 2009. And no, it is not collectible, it is an "Other" Item. Collectibles are only the items that are in the "Collectibles" category.

What merit?

The snow globe in Christmas Town is not really a collectible, although I'm not sure what to call it.. It's like the Christmas letters which gives a higher chance of finding loot..

Snow globe in ct is not the same at snow globe 09. Snow globe in ct was added by bogie to maps as an ornament to achieve at the end of a particular like maze or a puzzle.

^^ This. Maps marked with a snow globe icon have a snow globe prize if you complete it, which gives you an extra 1% to CT item spawn rate

To use the Holiday Terror map as an example.

I assume by solving the maze and getting to the end of it there will be a place to pick up the globe or will it just be added?

Honestly I already completed it so just curious on what I will have to do.

I believe there is an NPC (Santa?) where you pick up the globe after you complete it (if my memory is correct)

Yeah, the prize icon is new and ched has just added that recently.

I think a character gave the the globe once you met him/her. The prize icon I forgot. But I already got the globe last year.

does NPC interaction need be be available first? i got to an NPC in one of the prize icon maps, but NPC interaction is disabled

Ha another one bites the dust. I spent all morning trying to find globe in festivus. Got to the location, solved the end of puzzle, turned out npc interaction was still disabled. At least now I know where to get the globe in festivus map tho

But do them now and you can get them quickly when NPC interaction is enabled
