Just curious on peoples opinions of the mobile application, mainly the iOS as this is the only one I have tested albiet i am sure both platforms match up. From what i see it isn't actually a native application & is actually just a web view displayed within a container. Seems a bit pointless & the only benefits i see so far are push notifications. Would love to hear what other people think & if anyone actually uses it. FYI - I mainly use desktop but do run it through safari on my iPhone when needed.

It's just a quicker way to load up the game. I mostly play on the phone since I'm not always at home. Not much more to it.
Im not sure if using torn via directly to the web requires you to login again everytime you use it but if it does then that's another little benefit of the app.
Get Torn PDA instead. It has built in features from doctorn. Plus nicer UI and much more pleasing to the eye.

The app has a built in browser that keeps their own cache too. So you no longer need to access Torn from your web browser. Just use the one in the app. Plus the dev is actively developing and accepting suggestions so you can chip in your ideas if it's beneficial.
Torn PDA is amazing and its free. The devs could learn a thing or two from the Torn PDA app or collab.

On the contrary, the whole reason why we implemented an API system is so that players can build their own great apps / extensions like this - and it certainly looks very impressive! The official app however needs to remain pure and simple without any bells and whistles, as an introduction to Torn. We'll continually work to make it as clean and robust as possible, but if you want additional features then a custom community-created app is for you.
Torn's iOS app is terribly out of date as we're not allowed to update it. Apple will not allow an official Torn app that is a browser with instant login functionality / notifications - their response to this is to.. keep the aging and bug-ridden app up on their store, but to not allow us to update it?
However they don't seem to have an issue with community created variants - Torn PDA sounds like the perfect option!

I Think the torn app is great, if you put it on desktop view.
I commend you sir for allowing your fan base to utilise API’s to this extent. As a mobile app tester IRL i am very aware of apples bullshit processes with using the apple developer program to push apps. Have you tried creating a new instance & changing the name? Or even if you could would the mobile app be towards the bottom of the backlog for development?
It sounds like you dont have any mobile dedicated devs, which is quite surprising in 2020.

I just use kiwi browser and torn tools so I get notifications from that. The app never behaves for me tbh
I prefer using torn on mobile friendly browsers atm I play on yandex so I can use doctorn
I like mobile but prefer it on the computer. Its larger and easier to see
Are use a combination of both on the web on my phone using Safari as well as the torn application. The tour and application like you said it is a web browser that basically does the exact same thing as opening up Safari or chrome whatever you use and going to torrin.com. However like you also mentioned the torn app does give you the ability to have push notifications which can be quite useful at times. Personally I love the push notifications however the voiceover does seem to work a little bit better in the web browser version.
