Silly question but bootlegging is selling ripped off Media right? Music CDs and movies.

Why is the merit for 5k of these rare given how easy it is to get? Or am I missing something?

Usually many players aim for 60 NNB in a faster way to be able to do Presidential assassinations.

And some other stop at Hacking crimes for early money gains..

either of them can't waste their nerve going for 1 merit.

By the time you reach highest position either you don't care these merits or you simply forget.

So ultimately fewer people clears them so it is rare... but it will become uncommon soon.

It's an easy crime, but there are easier merits that require less total nerve and give better rewards. 5k * 3 = 15k nerve cost for this merit (assuming 100% success). In contrast 1k thefts (4 nerve jackets) takes only 4k nerve, gives better crime experience, and enough jackets to throw in the dump for a second merit.

Looking in YATA, there are like 20 other crime merits that will get me a merit point before this one, and they'll be more profitable and give me more crime experience. I'll probably start to transport drugs before cleaning up this bootlegging merit.
