Is it normal for a newcomer(>month) to be getting mugged by "someone" for daily basic?

Yes. Do not worry. use faction banking efficiently.
As it is an official option to mug in this game. The blame is mainly put on the victim for being careless.
And what do you think when someone get some money from mugging you. They will put your name in their mug list.
How to get out of it?
Only have little money on hand, which is for your personal use and use any money which is taken out of faction vault.
Level up to 15 and start flying. Nobody can mug you when you are flying. But be careful not to be away from the PC/mobile by the time of your landing. Because if you don't finish your purchase quick enough in a foreign country. there will be higher chance to get mugged overseas, which can hurt you more.
Mugging or not, attacking takes 25 energy. Which is very valuable unless you get good money out of it. So, if you are continuously giving low money, they will eventually stop mugging you.
Don't care to know the person and majority of the times it will be a time waste.
And avoiding from becoming a target?
Do not lurk more in global chat. Do not make enemies anywhere. Do not act stupid (the most aversive thing to majority of the torn community is being stupid.)

Yes mug crime does pay! Don't keep your money @ hand.
Once someone tries and mugs you for good cash, they will keep trying for some time to get more.
As a new player, there are a lot of ppl that consider small mugs of a few K, good mugs so you will get a lot of random mugs.
As you level up and your stats get better, you will find that random mugs get rare and the miggers more experienced and looking for bigger pots :-)

Yes. If I find they find you with money they'll keep doing it. Sometimes for weeks if someone puts you in their mugging list.
Once they find you don't keep money on hand, they'll stop doing it. If you don't have a vault, buying points is a safe strategy.
Once you get to level 15 you will start to fly and you will start getting mugged abroad, then level up to 18-20 so you are not in the bottom of the list anymore.

DrVoid Thanks for extra info on how to stay clean from mugging list. And no, i have never been in world chat, i do worried of being targeted. This 1 enemy i got most likely result of Duke's mission. Duke introduce an enemy for me lol
