Recently been going on the hunt for merits. I couldn’t find too much info in forums about gaining respect on an individual basis but let’s say I’m going for the award for earning 100k respect for my faction - what would be the best and most effective way about doing this?

is it just a matter of doing lots of attacks and being part of chains? Any info / links would be greatly appreciated

Being involved in wars is the best way really, aside from just sniping chain bonuses. Wars offer a 2x bonus for all respect, as well as defaulting to 3x fair fight multiplier. Additionally they often offer up retaliations, for another 1.5x mutliplier.

TL;DR what Proxima said.

Somewhat helpful wiki entry does not describe how much Respect is gained by different methods.

Doing leave or hospitalization attacks is certainly the way to gain the most Respect (not mugging). Chain multipliers and bonuses increase that. Doing a single attack on a fair fight target gains about 3 Respect.

Organized crimes gain some respect. PA can gain the most: 300 R for 8 days among 4 members. That is 9 Respect per day per member - equivalent to about 3 attacks per day. Others are less, for example, Bomb Threats give about 1 R per member per day.

The Television special gives minimal Respect: 1 R for 5 job points - so at most 2 Respect per day.

Territory wars are so great for building respect. And so are raids, they give you wall hit respect (even tho you didn’t get actual respect for your faction, but you do for your personal respect). But those are both hard to come by, for various reasons. In the mean time, I advise saving your mission targets (if you don’t already do so) and using those for chain targets since they give great respect. Always aim to hit the ones who give you more respect versus the little baby targets that don’t.

I recently hit 100k respect, couple weeks back. I always use my mission targets for chains, but I also got lucky and had legit wall wars + a raid to help with my gains. I did also take a few bonuses too.

If you can’t do territory wars + raid, try to chain hard (lots of hits) with high respect targets, and maybe see if you can add a bonus or two in as well.
