Want to know the history of Torn City

I think there´s at least one active player today with a two digit id. I can´t say from my memory who, but I know the player when I see him.

Vimes [37] and Munchielord [89] are still very much active in Savage Plague.

Would be great to hear from the oldest non-Ched active player, Tebbs [5] but he doesn't seem to post much, sadly.

We also have Titan, former leader for Engineered Plague. He still plays but under a different id. But I remember the names you mention. Tebbs was a staff member during Beta stage.

Tbf most of us were just a sassy bunch of 15-17 year olds in those days. Temp (previous Templar on his oldie ID) and I joke around regularly about him leading EP and me leading SUN when we were "kids."

Thank you very much! Most of my stories are centered on Destructive Anomaly and how the faction saw its creation. But yes, if you play a game for a long time, of course, you remember the major events.

I also really enjoyed the story about SUN, and would love to hear some tales about the formation of DA, and anything else that comes to mind. A lot of interpid field mice like me, the OP, AtaSmrk etc all eat this stuff up mate.

It would take me several posts if I was to write about the formation of DA. But if you´d like a sample, give me a few hours until I get home. Then I´ll write about how DA saw its formation.

Which were the 7 factions you were talking about.Are they still around?

Actually I wanted to have a clear idea about the evolution of the big factions like JFK, 39th, etc.

From what I can remember, from Secret Service it was Wolf Pack, Engineered Plague, and Yakuza. As for the other factions, I can´t really help you there. I´m also sad to say that I don´t think any of the mentioned factions are active today.

JFK, 39th... well, since I haven´t been involved with either of the factions, I can´t really help you there. All I can remember is that 39th being originally founded as 37th and saw the light around early 2005. It might be a good idea for you to check with the mentioned factions if you want to learn their background.

I've got a pretty good archive thread for you actually mate! Might find some decent esoteric info there, I'll dig through my notes and see if I can find anything else.

So in refence to Engineered Plague specifically, that fac glossary says the following:

Name: Engineered Plague

Leaders: Titan [227473], Templar [1281415], BlackVengeance [26197], SpeedSkateR [10106]

Date Started: 2005

Date Disbanded: 2015 (restarted in The Engineered Plague)

History:

- Were the first to win an unofficial faction war.
- Were the first faction to bring another faction to 0 respect.
- Were top of the Hall of fame, and warred Megadeth for the top spot
- Many of members were staff at one point.
- One of the first factions to be created (ID: 8).
- One of the super power factions in early days.
- Sub-factions = Infected Plague (official sub), Infected Impulse, Lucid Plague, Dutch Plague, Deadly Plague.

As an aside, Titan is also well known as the guy who mentioned on the forums that he was on the happy book, which then caused Champion to embargo the living f**k out of him Load image: laughing Also, when EP were the first fac to zero another, they realised the game wasn't coded to handle it yet, so continued on to drive them into negative respect numbers.

Loud_Pak bought a fac from Mug, which became Savages, and later merged with Engineered Plague to become Savage Plague. Titan now runs Midnight Plague, and has branched out recently with the Nite Family.

JFK should not be hard to get the history of. I'm 99% sure that Nota is the original founder and he still plays i think, so all you need is to ask.
After a while they merged with Vae victis where Z_Junior was the leader, and that being probably 13+ years ago, he can probably also tell you almost everything there is to know about JFK.

39th i'm almost sure they disbanded at one point and were reformed after, but there are plenty of old players there, surelly a few remember their history.

It would actually be a nice reasearch process to talk to old farts about their factions to try to get to know their history.

But it would be amazingly hard to put together a coherent timeline out of memory alone, and many important factions are long gone, many that actually were the top dog at Torn at some point in time like The Chain Gang.
