I mean technically this is a role playing game
If you are expecting people in a role playing game to represent themselves as they are in reality, you will have a bad time. However, if you enjoy the RP aspects of games such as Torn and roll with it, you will have a lot of fun.
Just as in RL, you have to be vigilant against scammers, both those looking to take your cash and those who seek to steal your heart.
Torn is probably not the best place to meet people for RL romance although I'm sure it has happened before.

In my opinion, Kras is the only cool person on this game. Everyone else is trying to be like Kras...just saying.
One rule.
Always assume its a male, unless proven otherwise.
What I think is they're using people's naivety and stupidity for money or attention they'd not get otherwise. The problem aren't as much the people doing it as the people falling for it. Guessing we just let the natural selection do it's thing, can't make a screen pregnant luckily.

If she is really female and hot, she will never send nudes or cybering for fake money. That's the basic logic.

It is amazing how most of the females that play torn are models who love wearing swim suits and sun glasses.

Example as staff I got to know one of the most well known scammers at the time. He played the role of an absolute scum bag who gave zero f**ks. You then compare this to his real life (which he kept very secretive) and you find he was a top high court lawyer, super f**king intelligent, who just needed something to get away from the expectation of who and what he must be in real life and the pressures that he faced day to day.
