As many of you might know, working stats are one of the key stats in torn along with battle stats, level/life, and most important of all, karma!

Just like battlestats and levels/life working stats only go up, they grow during your torn career, but theres a small issue.

Working stats are completely useless for directors!

why is this an issue? well, heres why. even the best, even the highest statted players in the entire game earn less money than a 2 months old player who bought dp's to run a logistics company.

blyk has the highest working stats in all of torn. yet that dosent even influence his game because he is a director. even if i had more stats than him. lets say i had 3 mil work stats. why would i ever get a job for 5 mil daily when i can run my logistics with so much more?

Now, i see the other perspective, workers dont have to do all the things directors do, they dont have to pay to start the company, they dont have to buy stock, they dont have to fire and hire workers, etc etc. they should earn more, because they quite literally do more work, regardless of stats.

and thats all correct.

should this be changed? is this a problem for you?

in my opinion, its not game breaking, but it does feel like a bummer that all my work stats never get used. ive been a director for most of my torn career and yet i still see my work stats go up, but i can never make use of them because being a director is just better. an unsatiesfying game mechanic.

edit: this thread is made under the assumption that working stats have zero influence over company performance, if you disagree with the premise feel free to post evidence to the contrary.

Disucssion: How do you feel about the interaction(or the lack thereof) between working stats and directors.

no

There is absolutely no confirmation as to whether the directors stats actually influence the company and with the sheer amount of hidden variables , we may never truly know.

i dont have a source on it, but im pretty sure ive heard from either bogie or ched that they dont influence income at all.

which makes sense, i ran the best software company in torn for a year while my working stats were under 10k total

in fact, since ched made the working stats variables visible, (director education, addiction, etc) i think its pretty safe to say director work stats do not matter
Darkfall [2465123]
But you also havent had any evidence that it doesn't....

Just because you chose it as the topic of the thread doesnt make it true.

This is all subjective to each individual person.

These are my Working stats...

Working Stats

  • Manual labor 198,529
  • Intelligence 311,166
  • Endurance 279,745
  • Total 789,440
Can I afford a company? Yes. Do I want to run a company? No.

So, I'll work for less than I could make with a company, just to not have to deal with the burden of running a company...

Make sense?

Nothing really matters. Find something you like doing and do more of it. If you don’t know then try different things until you find something you like doing. What was the question again? I’ve been dabbling Cabernet Merlot today. Peace.

i tried to adress this in my post, seems like i failed in that regard.

i think the system for your type of players work pretty fine. you dont wanna deal with the hassle of running a company, even when you can afford one, so your working stats are still useful to you.

but for any player who does run a company, they dont matter. thats why i made the big point in big letters.

So what you are suggesting is it might be worth the hassle to get the gains while you build up....

Then once you have fulfilled whatever objectives, you sell, and move on?

If so, I can see that definitely.
WiseTheRumGone [2078276]
im not really suggesting anything, this post is mostly just me trying to comunicate my issues with how working stats dont interact with directors.

one of the games main mechanics dont apply to me, which kinda sucks. not sure how to fix it though. if you let working stats impact income, that makes it so only old farts can be 10*

maybe make some kind of company where being a super high stats employee actually makes financially sense?
FidelCashflow [1993550]
I like that working stats don't impact directors. They are a good way for active players at the ~1 year mark (or earlier depending on how much they put off other edus) to have some reliable passive income.

I never felt like working stats were meant to be anything substantial besides a way older, not super active players to make easy money.

But we can at least say it doesn't effect so much to create a major difference...I have run tons of different companies with different stats...and I think only time I saw a difference when I didn't have TCP TGP and education...and I perfectly ran 10* logestics TV AN...with crappy stats tbh
WiseTheRumGone [2078276]
I agree with that, it really helped me in my early days. i earned like 6 mil daily from my software company despite my low stats.

its just the flip side that bothers me, no matter how high my work stats are i will always have to be a director to maximize my income.
FidelCashflow [1993550]
But if you're ever not as active or don't wanna deal with whining employees then the workstats will help you get a job and continue to get passive income.
