Been playing alot more. Nearly 4 hours every night since getting my new guitar. Really loving it. Such a joy to play and the neck is just so nice, so smooth just a dream to play.
F chord is now really good. Can play barres all the way down the neck no bother while strumming fast and stuff, really quite glad with myself. Also starting to slowly change between F and other chords. I can almost play the first part of dead or alive which im very happy about, been wanting to learn this song for a while.
Also i have been dabbling into some blues, learned my blues chords and learned a pretty basic 12 bar blues run but will improve this over time. Been also learning more scales and looking deeper into them. Just concentrating on box 1 though and doing some music theory regarding root notes and been messing around coming up with licks and phrases using the root notes
Oh i also created my own riff for the first time, kinda just happened when messing around. Pretty nifty! I have already changed a couple things around it to make it sound better but thats the name of the game i guess!
Still playing as much as i can, take a few days off maybe here n there but only due to life and not cos i dont want to.. anyway..
Been working on nothing really new, ive learned a couple new riffs here and there, learned killing in the name of and im currently working on the metal by tenacious D. Tryna work on my pulloffs.
Been practicing my scales alot more and last night i turned on a blues backing track for the first time and just started playing along, i couldnt believe how good it sounded, like genuinely surprised, i never thought i could do that but i did! Its amazing how your notes come alive when playing with a backing track, something i gotta do more now! Improvising blues is one of the things that got me to want to play guitar and managing to achieve some of that last night was a nice feeling.

Jamming over backing tracks is great for "putting it all together" as you can apply any techniques, scales and melodies you have learned so far, and does wonders for developing your style.
When improvising you can try throw in a few licks from songs you have already learned (or search YouTube for licks from your favourite artists). Once these become second nature this can aid in developing your own licks and keeps your improve sounding fresh, and often allows you transition to other areas of the fretboard. Also trying jamming in different keys!

Thats awesome! I appreciate your encouragement. I havent updated in a while to be honest but im playing every day where i can. Iast song ive learned was bad moon rising by creedance, however i aint really learned much new in a while, once i have got myself tot his level where im able to play a bunch of chords and scales im kinda able to just play my own thing, find myself doing that more often. Not sure if thats a good thing or not but i know theres no rush, il get better when i get better. I have considered maybe taking a lesson every once in while to make sure im on yhe right track.

Learned seek and destroy by metallica. Main riffs, just need to finish up the whole song. Learned in about an hour so pretty chuffed with that. Going to start tryna learn something new every night now i can pick things up relatively quick. Found myself being in abit of a rut just messing around and not really learning anything new.
My twin girls are just exploring the world of music at age 12. I hope one of them picks up on bass. It really resonates with me. I appreciate the bass players. My favorite being Les Claypool. He made bass fun. Why so serious Mr. Krinkle?

Thanks guys! Not gonna lie i have been really slacking since my last post. been a pretty busy month, had a vacation and had some other things going on and i kinda made excuses being lazy. I also got crazy fast new internet so been playing more games than usual lol. Played a little bit here and there but i haven't played in a week and my fingers have gone kinda soft thanks to my neglect.
Picked it up again tonight though and going to try make more of an effort again, my fingers hurt.
Its crazy how crap you feel you become when you haven't played enough, Im making mistakes on things i had down, getting annoyed. Gotta keep cool and take my time again!
Yep, i suck. Hardly touched the damn thing, been busy over the holidays, but not really. Just an excuse, I picked up last night though and i plan to again tonight, i have however bought a new guitar, acoustic this time. Alvarez Masterworks, shes a beauty. This is the kick start i need!
So guitar has been sent back. Unforuntely i gotta wait until late next month for a new one as they are currently on a boat somewhere and must pass QC at shop. However they have given me a hardcase for a discounted price to make up for these issues, cant fault them for that.
