Very simply, the temporary item you have equipped is automatically refilled after battle provided there is another in inventory. No boxes to check: It is assumed that if you want a different temp or no temp equipped you'll go to items and change it manually.

Please graveyard, didn't know this option already existed.

Just check the box. It's better to have the option to requip or not than to not have the option.

Not sure if you're troll or if you're lazy but there is an option in settings to turn re equip temp items off..
