I done a search of the forum for "Excel" and the last mention was over a year ago. Google Sheets on the other hand had lots of mentions.
What can Google Sheets do (or do better) that Excel/PQ can't? Or is it just that everyone prefers Sheets?
It is because Google Sheet uses platform called Google App Scripts. It is based on JavaScript so easier to use for people who are already familiar with JS. It effortlessly connects to most of Google's platforms. And it is cloud based. So, if your PC is off and you have a Google Sheets spreadsheet connected to Google App Scripts it would still update in the cloud. I believe the fact that Google Sheets are cloud based and Google app Scripts can run while you are not around, is the reason why it is so much more popular here rather than Excel.
