This is probably confirmation bias honestly, for your one success story there's a thousand I've seen over the years of people having 10/10 awareness for years and never finding anything of value.

Awareness 100% will increase the number of items you find, but there is no guarantee you find anything of value.

There are a pool of items with weighted chances of them spawning in the city (I believe thats how it works anyway). Adding awareness will increase your chances of finding an item of value, but it could also never happen and the merits were wasted. There are other upgrades that give you a benefits 100% of the time, life, stats, mastery etc.

Not giving advice either way, awareness is a gamble. Grats on the bells tho Orb! :)

Each merit in awareness gives +20%, so with 10/10 merits you get +200% Awareness.

it’s really your choice but most people will say merits are better spent in things like: passives, health, crit, etc.

I compiled a little over 20 finders Keepers logs a while back to derive a value for each +20% increase in awareness and found the estimated value to be ~$90k/day, though the value ranged from $12k to $266k/day so its highly variable. The returns depend almost exclusively on whether or not they found an SE, as will your own opinion on whether or not its worth it.

Had max awareness now for 3 years and best thing I’ve found is a shabti sculpture. I would have been better off putting the merits somewhere else.

Having 10/10 Awareness means you never miss finding what you could have found. So you never have to wonder what you missed if you didn't have 10/10. I sleep better this way.

You do realize that merits have an implied value right? Meaning that instead of using those 55 merits on Awareness, you could max something like say Crime Experience for hacking crimes that pay out millions everyday & not murder your CE in the process.

Also, "Small chance is better than no chance" is what you hear lottery players say everyday in real life. Doesn't change the fact that it's still a waste of $.

Definitely not worth it. I had max awareness and company specials for years and it definitely doesn't makeup for the waste of all those merits.
