It's only called blood group zero in languages other than English. And even when called that, the symbol is still the letter 'O'. It stands for "Ohne", which is German for "Without"

I Guess is common use all around.

Why tho... As Unlucky said, Common use. Not even the Red cross or WHO or CDC or anyone else that I can think of or find online for that matter uses zero. And during that search, I found what Patient found/knows which is that it's not zero, it's O for ohne. So. Big ol no.

I agree, even googling it, can't find a single article related to "zero" positive. I'm boggled that someone would even say this. Troll?
Being a mandatory English speaking game, I'd vote we use English terms to describe all items. I'm old fashioned like that.

I've actually got an answer directly from the "Austrian Federal Ministry of Health" [1] regarding the controversy on the usage of "0" (zero, number) vs "O" (oh, letter) about the blood types; they confirm the original terminology used by dr. Karl Landsteiner in 1901 for the classification is "0" (Zero); and the "O" (oh) variation is a probable mistake due to the similar shape between the number 0 and the letter O. I can also give you the contact to talk directly with the Professor who sent me the answer. Francesco Crimella (talk) 16:39, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

I can find many sources that say it was never zero and always O, all coming from official government websites. But what's the point? In English it is referred to as O, not zero. This is a mandatory English speaking game. You're trying to flex your nerd cred for some reason, but it won't work. Arguing what something is called in another language as reason to change what it's called here is borderline stupid. Should we change water to mizu because another country calls it that? No, no we shouldn't.
Below is an official website saying it's O. Does that lend any credibility? It shouldn't, because it's irrelevant.

Someone woke this up again. Not me...
As it says in your link
C was later to be re-named O for the German “Ohne”, meaning “without”, or “Zero”, “null” in English).
But there is no big deal in maitaining the O.
Just me who was searching for the zero and found nothing.
Why are you so upset FishButt?

I'm upset because morons like you exist. You acknowledge that it's O for "ohne" and this is the term used in English. It doesn't matter what it was called at one point, it matters what it's called today. This is a mandatory English game, so English terms are used. You're now fine with it staying O because that's the correct application in this case and you realized your stupid is showing.
Thanks for the overseas mug earlier, clearly you aren't salty. Lol

You can verify this with a google search ?
That moment when you say this, but don't actually do a thorough job in your google 'research'

Why do these type of idiots exist? How is changing O to 0 even a good suggestion? The blood type is commonly referred to as O, not 0. Never in my life have I seen someone use 0. Also, what page were you even on when you were doing your “google research”?
lmao, probably on Internet Explorer or Yahoo xD
Man, this is a slippery slope... Next thing you know, you folks are going to start clamoUring for Z to be pronounced "zed" and H to be pronounced "haych" or something as equally stupid. :P
